I recently inherited an older WD external drive, it's 80g but someone divided it into two partitions, there's no software with the thing, and the drive reads fine. But as small as it is, I'd like to just have the the opened up to one large partition, but I'm not really sure where to start. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Since I've got an 80g iPod I figued this would be a perfect backup for my music files.

in Control Panel, go to Administrative Tools, then Computer Management, then go to disk management, and you can do it there. I posted this somewhere else last month.

I found how to do that by accident. I was looking for help on my flash drive that corrupts all of my files, then found that. xp, 2000, and as far as I know, Vista all have that feature.

Vista does too, and it's almost identical to XP's.
