so this is it, the i-need-your-feedback thread for my newest creation,
may i present you

Q-VENT 900

yes, its an antec 900 ill mod, so what do i want to do?


Rebuild the front so it works as a watercooling reservoir (blue part)
fit in a 360 Radiator
cover the front in black mesh (i guess hex)
make a cover for the motherboard and the PSU (shown below)
Remove drivebays (done that already)
make a custom hdd bay and attach it to the top
remove the top fan and replace it with a DVD drive
water cool almost everthing, including:CPU, GPU, voltage regs, northbridge and the southbridge.

That looks awesome! Don't hide those two front reservoirs so much though, they're gonna look sick. Also curious as to wether you plan on re-locating the eject button for the drive to the top or something. Looks awesome though, love it.

That's one freakin' cool design... and an equally cool render to match! I can appreciate the front reservoir a lot more now that I have a similar case sitting in front of me for reference (a stock 1200) - I want to put a reservoir in my front panel now, too!

Nice, mate, nice. Looks really good, but I agree with Yeti, dont hide the reservoirs too much, theyll look sick either way, but with them uncovered, youll be able to show off that little bit more :) Rep'd.

Personally I would leave the front reservoirs as they are, they go perfect with the current design. If you make them more visible it would look kinda stupid and IMO destroy the simplicity of the front of the case.

they are both external drives so no real knowledge of the insides, though from my experience they are usually SATA...

You can get a laptop slimline SATA slot load for a lot cheaper, but you will need an adapter, since they combine power into the data. The adapters are usually under 10 dollars though.

That's the thing they don't light up zero LEDS. its just a blue polycarbonate instead of injection molded PCM.

and it has almost the same tint as that blue plexi.


I'm not trying to hate. Just those fans pop'd up in my head when I saw the windows go in thought they'd match that perfect.

Interesting HDD coolers. Have you run any tests yet to see how much of an affect they actually have? I'm wondering how well the contact surface area and the (I assume) minimal surface area in the tubes will transfer heat. If it works well, it might also be worth trying as PSU HS's.

no guys its NOT a road sign, this sign is from an old furniture store which suffered from the ****ty economy, it had a small backery in it, which happens to was one of those my dad used to manage and supervise, he saw the signs, waited till no ones watching, then they where his signs.. you got the idea eh? ;)

That bottom compartment turned out awesomely, very nice work. I love how the tubes and the SATA cables will loop out of the back, just looks cool IMO cos most people would try to hide em.

The Front is finished gluing and sanding, unfortunately i cant primer and paint it since its to friggin cold in my shop :/ luckily i have this week off, so i can continue work on the case =)
