hello,

i was wondering if you could suggest a all-steel or mostly-steel full tower case.

i work in a metal mfg. plant where he have a chroming facility. i will be able to chrome and polish my case, and need a steel case that fits the bill. aluminum will not work.

do you have any suggestions?

i would like one that is big enough to house 4850s in CF and i probably will use top of the line air-cooling. water cooling is a possibility, dont want to rule it out.

thanks,

bohman

Not sure what exactly you are looking for as far s style goes, but I think the Sunbeam Transformer would look very cool chromed:

As would the ABS Aplus Diablo:

And the Aplus Monolith, given the right fans:

Post some pics when you get it chromed and polished!

Fortunately . .you can search cases by material at Xoxide.
Here (http://www.xoxide.com/steel-computer-cases.html) are all your steel case options.

Most front panels are made of plastic, or aluminum.
I found one with a front bezel made of SECC Steel Here (http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-zandolf-case-black-steel.html).

I would cut some scrap peices out of another case made of the same material.
. . dip those pieces and see how it turns out.

Over at Paul's Chrome Plating in Evans City, Pennsylvania, they have a technique for chroming plastic. They paint the plastic with a special silver paint. This gives it enough conductivity for a layer of copper, which then can easily be chrome plated. No idea on the cost. But it might give you allot more options in your case selection.
