Planning on an upgrade for the next mod. Athlon64 is like so damn far behind the current tech. I've browsed around and made up a list of basically these few components that I'm upgrading. If you know whats the  and  of the wares or have better recommendation of same h/w within the price range, pls let me know. I'm getting very outdated on hardwares nowadays.

Oh ya, its just a mid-range PC. Probably just for Diablo III and SC II.

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 DUAL 6000+

MB: ASUS M3N78-EM (AM2/AM2+)

VGA: Sapphire HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E

RAM: OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 / 800 MHz / Reaper HPC Edition / Dual Channel

PSU: Gigabyte ODIN GT 800W

Thx in advance.

I think that PSU is a bit more power than you need but go with it so that you can upgrade. Definitely a good choice on for the mobo, ASUS makes good stuff, and if you can, upgrade to a 3870 if it's not too much more.

Hmm k so I'll cut down the PSU to GT 550 and get 3870 instead with the extra $ cos the price gap between 550 and 800 is like 200+ bucks my money the last time I checked

go for a 4850 instead. lot more bang for the bucks and a smaller cpu

a 6400+ wouldnt kill you either:P

get a modular power supply. MUCH easier to install/tinker with. i just got my OCZ Reaper RAM about a week ago, but i'm loving it so far. i got the 1066 with a $40 mail in rebate from newegg too :D

That is a good setup. The 6000+ is a great processor! But you need to trim that PSU down to around 600 Watts. It doesn't say how much RAM is that though?
