Oh come on, try and guess.
Yeah, I quit my job. I've been a sysadmin for a town for 3.5 years, and today I finally snapped. Those who know me know that this has been coming for awhile.. I've been completed over worked for the last 2 months, to the tune of 500 hrs last month. Oh did I mention I dont get paid overtime?
Any suggestions for a new job? I'm looking for a good company to work for.

Are you wanting to stay in Olds? Have you looked at the help wanted ads in Fort McMurray? Pretty much every company here is looking for people. Many have signing bonuses, retention bonuses, etc., and even daily living expense bonuses. The downside: living in Fort Mac. The upside: you make enough money that you can afford to get out of town whenever you want.

As a SysAdmin, I say become a plumber or an electrician! :D
J/K.. I know how you feel brother! Good luck! I know it will all work out for the best!

Learn to Program PLCs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Programmable_logic_controller).
Lots of industrial job opportunities in that field.

hmmm PLC's...
I may take you up on that idea, sounds like an interesting field.
It is funny though, the wikipedia example of a plc circuit is nearly identical to a circuit I designed for my Heavy Water project..

Well, I'm doing my own thing right now, working for myself with my consulting company. I did a hdd recovery today, and have a full day lined up tomorrow.
I find out on Sept 3rd if the town wants to bring me back. I made a proposal for a very different position, and the creation of a new position.
Anyone want to work as a desktop support technician? Shoot me a resume!

If you can get here, and are able to work in Canada, you are welcome to apply. :)

Well, today was the verdict. I will not be returning to my old job. The good news is that I have a few projects on the go already, and things are looking good so far. :)
