I'm doing this one for a friend, and with how awful my ASU mouse turned out the first time and considering how much I learned about it, I set out to paint myself another few times. I did another ASU mouse which turned out well, but isn't quite done, and then this one. SO...
I started out by taking some advice from SgtM and DrumThumper (thanks guys!) I went out and bought me some 2000 grit sand paper and 3m Car polish.

I started by taking your standard run of the mill Microsoft 4 button intelli-mouse, roughed it up with 600 grit, washed it down, coated it with plastics primer, and gave it a solid white paint job on the body, and red for the various buttons and accentuations. Here, you can see it drying:

I also liked the idea of putting a logo on it, so after I had placed and order for a roll of frisket, I printed out a Red Wings logo, and then removed the parts I wanted to paint red on the body of the mouse:

I wanted to do all of the red/white, but the detail for the size was just too minute, so I made do with what I could. This was a rough cut, the actual logo was done just a bit better. I'm not going to bother doing an outline, it looks really neat without it. You'll see.
Got my frisket!

This stuff is AWESOME.... so worth the money. So after much trial and error for attempting to cut the logo out of the stuff the way I wanted it to come through on the paint, I finally got the stuff on the mouse, taped it off, and sprayed it with red. I'll have pics coming up, but I didn't get the frisket bubble-less, so the red kinda leaked through just enough to be annoying, so I had to do another coat of white after covering the logo.
More pics tomorrow, when the paints dry!
