I'm not quite sure if this would be considered the appropriate section of the website for this thread, but I'm in need of a 4 port KVM switch with the following specs:

PS/2 ports
Audio jacks would be nice, but not a necessity
Wall Mountable
$50 USD or less

Any suggestions?

Here is one that I do NOT recommend..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817107244

We got one at work and about a week later the mouse port stopped working. We replaced it with another one, and it lasted a little longer about a month.. just enough to not be able to exchange it. So now there is 1 keyboard and 4 mice on the desk! :banghead:

I have owned this KVM from IOGear for almost 3 years and its been totally dependable, but its almost double your budget. It does include audio and this one doesn't really need to be mounted because it uses hotkeys to switch between the different PC's.

NewEgg does have this IOGear for 49.99..

unfortunately it doesn't do audio :(

Good luck!

That last one you listed is on my short list. Anyone else have any input?

Use RDC. I haven't turned back since using it.

I'm with crenn. I use RDC and VNC mainly because I'm too cheap. There are times however, when I'm working on a side job and want to get to something on my server, or get in the net, and I can't because I had to pull the keyboard, mouse, and monitor to work on the other one.

Looks like it is XP Pro only. I'm running Home and a few *nix distros.

Word of warning; When it comes to KVM's you get what you pay for. I have purchased several KVM's in the past and usually I was too cheap to get a name brand model. They always had issues. Things like mouse or keyboard ports not working and all systems and the kvm have to be power cycled. Other things like crappy video signals, noise on the line, etc.

We currently use Black Box and Avocent kvms and extenders at work and for our customers with no issues.
