Here, gas prices have gone up seventy cents within the past day. Seventy. Gas is now at 4.39 for regular here and 4.19 for diesel (only reason diesel is lower is because the companies know truckers will strike like they have before). I'm really pissed off. How far are they going in other areas?

Wow. That blows. I can't remember what the prices are in my area, but they have been dropping slowly. Also around here diesel is like a dollar more than gas, but its always been that way around here.

---------------------
Checked google for gas prices, went to MSN, typed in my zip code and...

Lowest: $3.67

Average: $3.75

Highest: $3.85

My Diesel Guesstimation: $4.50 (we have truck drivers galore here btw, don't know how they do it...)

The bay area of northern california is usually the most expensive anywhere in the states and right now it is below $4 for the first time in a while. Even as low as $3.22 in a couple of places.

A station in the east bay was selling gas for $2.99/gal until it caused such a traffic jam that the cops told them they would bill them for the extra traffic cops if they continued. They had planned on keeping that price for about a week but jacked it back up after closing last night to avoid the extra costs for traffic control.

Yeah. NC has the highest gas taxes of all the states right now. Gas prices are expected to rise again tomorrow as well. Diesel is still 4.19 though. I can drive the truck instead of the car, and I have a friend that makes biodiesel for cheap ;)

Around AUD $1.49/l or so here for regular petrol. About 11-15 cents higher for diesel.

We're at $3.99 for 87 Octane, but supposedly it's supposed to jump another 50 Cents to $1 because of the hurricane and some BS going on in Venezuala (sp?)

$3.84 for 87 octane here in Montana. Diesel is around $4.11 or thereabouts. Prices dropped 10 cents overnight a this last weekend (Saturday/Sunday), and since we're kinda on the end of the loop for gas prices (almost always the last to raise or lower), I'm expecting at least another 10 cent drop before Ike ****s with our economy here.

By me, At the cheap station, it has been coming down cent by cent and it was at last check, $3.65 a gallon for 87 Octane. Diesel is about 4.15ish.

I lied--the $3.84 is for the 89 octane. The low-grade here (which, by the way is 85.5 octane) is $3.79/gallon.

In the last week, I've seen it go up from as low as $3.65, up to $2.29/gallon.

We are paying $1.36/liter here.. 3.8 liters to a gallon, so that is $5.17 CAD/Gallon.

Why do we pay so much, considering how much we produce here in Alberta? That doesnt seem right to me.

It seems that a lot of companies took advantage of the metric system to make more money...

Petrol (Gas) has dropped in the uk in the last few weeks, now we pay close to £1.16 per litre, thats about £6 per gallon which when converted into dollors its about $12 per gallon!

I can't help but feel were getting ripped off in the UK somehow? most of what we pay is duty to the goverment!

Oil has dropped below $100 a barrel (what most analysts were calling the magic number, along with 110, 120, 130, and 140) and yet gas prices remain well above $3/gallon here in the US.

Here's hoping that the House, the Senate, and the White House get revamped completely.

Guys.. are you reading this? UK paying $12/gallon, Canada paying almost $6/gallon, and you are complaining about $3-4?

Here's hoping the White House gets revamped, and puts more money into alternate energy sources rather than lowering the price of gas.

Actually, it may depend on the octane rating of the gas. A gallon of 88 or 89 octane gas here is $3.50 and that has 10% ethenol in it. -What octane is the $12? -I heard somewhere its like 95 or 96. the Highest I've ever seen here is 92 octane.

The price I quoted for here was for 87 octane, the lowest grade available. Mid grade (89) and premium (91) are substantially more.

I pity the people who are driving high performance cars that need the premium fuel.. they paying more than $1.50/litre (3.8L per Gal)

Same here, except I think our premium is 93. In Michigan, there's usually about a 10 cent increase in each grade.

the price i quoted was for standard unleaded petrol at octane 90, some stations do supply octane 96-98 depending on where you go, that works out slightly dearer at about $14 ish, give or take the current petrol price

Less than 3% of all cars on the road benefit from high octane. It's pretty much BS, despite what your manual says. If your engine doesn't knock from regular unleaded, no reason to put 93 in it.

only cars with Higher compression ratios will require high octane fuel. -I almost bought an Acura TL that had a 10.5:1 compression ration. -it required premium fuel. but most cars on the road are in the 8 or 9:1 range. so regular unleaded fuel is fine for them.

I've had several turbo cars that were unable to run lower octane because of detonation problems. One of my friends bought a tuned up Eagle Talon, and his wife melted the pistons by putting in regular gas. PING PING PING PING

TL is niiiiice.. I wanted to drive one, but chose the RSX-S instead. Insane performance from that too, but I alway regretted not testing the TL. I DID manage to swing an hour in a 2000 Audi S4 once.. that was a good time. :D

I have an Acura TL. :D 2004. It does take premium though. Lotsa torque.

Here in SE Michigan (Commerce area), our highest (today) was about $3.99 for Reg....$4.15 for Diesel. I drive a F-350 Diesel (9100 Lb truck) with a 50 gal. tank. You can guess how much that is.... my wallet screams bloody murder every time I fill up.

cost me about $120 to fill up my little ford focus (Euro Model) with a 12 gallon tank
