Hi, my Bro Ash wants to build a project using my assistance, so he requested i start this work log for him:

We are looking to aquire sponsorship to build the "Extreme Lan" machine. A full worklog of the build construction and Benchmarks will be made aviable on both websites/forums. This machine will also be showcased in the LAN events we cover and offer other participants the opportunity to experience the best techololgy available.

Using the ASUS Striker 2 Extreme as a base for the games machine providing the best overclocking potential and support for SLI using Nvidia GTX 280's. 4GB of DDR3 @ 1800MHz will provide the head room for overclocking and ensure maximum stabilty.

An Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 will provide the grunt for the system, this CPU is ideal as it can overclock with ease with plenty of head room and future proof "Extreme Lan".

Weston Digital are leading manufactures of hard drives at present, there WD Velosraptor drives provide unparralled peformance and reduced loading times.

Windows Vista x86 Ultimate will power the machine

This not extreme enough for you? they what if we include a server in the same case, Using a ASUS M2NLR/Sata motherboard, thus allowing us to use the latest AMD processor to ensure mamimum peformance when running game server, 8GB of DDR2 ram will ensure a LAG free experience.

Installing 1TB on a RAID system alongside the operating system hard drive will allow fast loading of data to clients when connected.

Windows server 2008 x64 will allow the games to run with no issues.

To ease congestion an internal Gigabit switch will be installed to reduce latency and improve cable mangement on the rear.

Due to the extreme spefications of the machine water cooling will be required, four,,,that right. 4 water cooling loops.

1) GTX 280's

2) Intel Core 2 Extreme

3) AMD Processor

4) Hard Drives

To power all this will require 3 power supplys.

sounds intense dude... but who will sponsor you for this when you've told them so little about what you do? It's all very good that you know what you want, but that machine looks like it will cost upwards of £2000... if people don't really know what you do, how do you expect to get sponsored? either way good luck with the project *thumbs up* :)

What XCoM may or may not be telling us is that this could be a peltier system and the rest of the fluid is needed to cool the beverages!
