If you want a new 22" ws, sleek looking screen right out of the box, the Samsung 2253LW is a great investment. If you like quality this is in my opinion your best bet. It's a solid screen, but it's has its downfalls.

General:
Ok, when I first got this about just under a month ago, I LOVED the look of it right out of the box. The sleek design was perfect for a teens room or a business call office. Unfortunately, it does NOT have any tilt or hight adjustments. and to be honest, the design itself is great other than no tilt.........

............BUT, it is a killer screen

Key Features:

The samsung 2253LW 22" Ws is a sleek screen, but isnt to light.

The screen has the nice thick gloss black edge around the sides.

It does have a small clear perspex lip on the bottom which hides all of the buttons. power is indicated by a small blue led that i gather is ment to make that piece glow but it doesnt work too great at that job. although it does help youfind the power button.

The screen comes with both HD vga cord and normal vga cord for either application depending on your rig.

Other Features:

Stealth buttons.. very nice

Lots of different running options like brightness and there is a setting for gamers..movies..custom.. text.. internet.. sport.. and dynamic contrast.. and alot of other settings I havent yet explored.

2ms response time.... VERY VERY FRIGAN AWESOME

Pros:
LED for finding on/off button and other buttons....

Very sleek

Looks sweet

Isn't gonna smash up your bank account..

Bought it from a shop with a chance of damage.. so it was cheap... had 2 dead pixcels but who cares save like 150 bucks

Cons:

Everytime you touch it ya leave fingerprints... but it comes with a cloth to rid of them

Max res is 1680x1050 :(

No tilt or hight adjustment.

The led flashes when your pc is off and it is quite bright

Price:

$265 not to bad... cheap I would say... WELL worth it..

Overall rating: 8/10

Will update if i think of anything else...

EDIT: 1 pic sorry it is stock... ill take some later

hmm, was the stand/base already attached when you got it? i don't know why they would take it out but my samsung 226BW tilts, so i would think that would to.

both samsung's site and various reviews say it tilts.

It does tilt. My cousins boy friend has that monitor, you need to be quite forceful with it.

Good review mate, unfortunately 1680x1050 is the native res for a 22"WS monitor. However you can can force it to go large with some after market apps.

That screen is actually 21.6" not 22". The BW is a true 22", but most won't be able to tell the difference. The screen response time is actually 5ms, but it's driven by special software to 'drive it' to 2ms.

The cords are DVI and D-Sub (VGA). Also, the screen is very bright.... if I leave brightness on 100%.... my room lights up.

Yep that is correct. Because it isn't an actual "LCD" (TFT I think, correct me if I am wrong) panel it isn't 22", the size is 21.6".
