Ok, heres the deal. My laptop DVDROM is almost dead on me. I know the CD for my Windows XP is a good disk because I just used it on my wifes Dell with no issues. But when I pop it into the ROM on the laptop I get errors, can't find this error writing that, blah blah blah.

Anyway what I would love to be able to do is install from the CD by placing the disk in my desktop, boot to a bootable CDROM then network the Desktop CDROM to run the install. Does anyone here have any ideas on how this can be done. Everywhere I look on google doesn't give the proper info, it all keeps falling back to floppies and I don't have any computers that use floppy disk drive anymore.

The only way that would work is if your NIC supports a PXE boot.
