View Full Version : fan amp usage?
can anybody tell me how many A (amps) normal fans use? i have
2*200 mm
2*140 mm
3*120 mm
all fans are antec fans:)
and i am thinking of trying to connect them to a controller, but that handles 25A and i havent got a clue if the fans use 100 mA or 10A ?
+rep to anybody who can help me:D
I believe you're fine. The Antec Bigboy 200mm that I used in Cobra-matic only pulls 0.3A at the highest setting (this is from their product sheet on their site). Assuming that's the max, 7x0.3 = 2.1A.
Edit: Looks like the Tricool 120s pull .24A at max setting
http://www.antec.com/pdf/manuals/tricool_install.html
Fixed speed 80s pull 0.14A
Startup will be higher but I wouldn't expect it to exceed 25A.
thx a million man! that was excactly what i wanted to know.

you also need to keep in mind wattage. most standard controllers do 25watts. so to most fans.
Deltas how ever pull 30 or 40watts so they need a heavy duty controller.
(a bit late but w/e)
thx anyways:D its only pulling light and 3 fans atm. so guess it will be fine:)
