I wonder if this will affect quality. I've only really used AMD for budget builds.

heh.... funny... only a couple of years ago... everybody and their dog swore up and down about AMDs.... the gamin processor.. the server processor.. the home processor... but ever since the quad core... all loyalties have changed lolz... amd does kinda suck at raw horsepower now.. but hell... i cant complain

I've always sworn by AMD. (Well, since the Thunderbird era, at least.) Intel, though, really came back strong with the Core architecture, and now they're eating AMD's breakfast - the Phenoms have some real trouble competing.

Here's hoping this doesn't affect quality (as nevermind said) - and for the record, mate, they're still great chips as long as you're not going high-end at the moment. Intel's got the performance market pretty much sewn up, while AMD's got value buyers behind them.

I like AMD.

But my next computer will be a intel/ATi.

I want the best possible.
