Intel iMac Mod

I own an aluminum intel iMac 24in and want to know if it'd be possibly to add clear windows to the back of the case along with painting it? Well.. I know it'd be possible, I'm just wondering if you guys would recommend it, =P. As for painting it, would I need to sand it, or would the case be good for priming / painting without it?

Also, if there's enough room, would it be possible to add LEDs around the clear windows?

As far as edge lighting the windows, it's remarkably easy, and takes no more space than the thickness of the acrylic itself. :)
