I can back up all 6 of my PC's in the size area of 300GB tops, but lots of people have tons more. What do you have?

BTW, the most I have is one HD with 320GB. The others are far smaller.

Well, lets see...

A 160GB primary and 200GB secondary on my desktop. 160GB in my laptop. A 120GB 2.5" external and 20GB 1.8" external drive. My server has a 80GB disk. Then comes the ton of drives sitting on the self (all are IDE except a 300GB velociraptor), I have 4 x 250GB drives, 3 x 120GB, 2 x 100GB, 6 x 80GB, 4 x 60GB, 7 x 40GB, 15 x 20GB, and various others. Most are 5400RPM, a handful are 7200RPM, they fill up a paper grocery bag (well a doubled up one as single one would rip due to the weight). For a grand total of way more storage than I'll ever use at the moment.

I used to have three externals, but my 200GB drive died on me. So now I have a 250GB WD My Book, a 60GB WD Passport and the drive in this laptop which is another 40gigs.

But I'm planning on buying at least another 250gig external, but its most likely going to be a 320GB WD Passport.

Then if I EVER finally decided to start rebuilding a desktop, it will have 750gig drive in it. Unless by that time the 1TB drives are more affordable, then I'll opt for that.

You can never have too much space! :)

Take your external drive apart, and you'll probably have a working internal drive.

I have an 80Gb and a 250GB in my tower,a 500GB external, and a 750GB external. The external drives are where I store my movies and TV shows (all legal thanks). Sadly, they are getting quite full. I'll be putting the external drives in my next build, since the computer I am using right now is my family's. In that build I'll get a 1.5TB drive, so I can keep all my media in one place. I'll then put the external drives in that tower and use them for games, other storage, and whatever.

250 in here, along with a 160 from an old machine (need to put it back in)... 40 in the P4, the Tbird had a 30 before that box died, I'll be transferring that... got a 60 that needs a home (but I'm afraid it might be dead)...

I just put "Over 300". I could back everything I care about up on a 320, if I had to.

500GB in my desktop, 40GB X 2 in my file server, 40GB in my laptop. 40GB in the wifes desktop but only she uses that one. All in all about 620GB but pictures, documents and video would probably backup easily under 100GB.

Got a 160GB internal drive on my box, and a nice 250GB external drive (that I've half-filled already... o.o )
I hate having to choose what I need to back-up, and what I don't... *packrat mentality*

I think you need more options ;) I have 2.5tb

In my main desktop I have two 160GB Hard Drives in RAID 0 for windows, and a 500GB for storage.

In my portable gaming pc I have a 250GB for windows and an extra 160GB for whatever.

I have Western Digital External 120GB.

The PC I made for my dad has 80GB.

My Frankenstein Compaq laptop has 30GB.

I have a 20GB and two 10GB Hard Drives that I don't use.

So that totals up to 1500GB Total Storage space in my household.

in my main 2 rigs (one is a data server for programs and media)
2x2x150 raptors (raid, one set in each case) = 600 gig
3x1tb (in the server) = 3tb
2x750 (raid, main rig) = 1.5tb
1x320 (ghost drive) = 320

for a grand total of.... (yes i used calculator here) 5.42tb of wich i have 100 gig free on each except the raptor raids wich are always less then half full

Multimedia rig: 250gb, 160gb, 640gb, 640gb
Laptop: 250gb
External: 250gb

A ton of other HDs lying around or in spare systems ranging from 129mb (yes megabytes) to roughly around 20gb. Probably around 15 HDs in this range. I never throw away functioning HDs.

I answered over 1tb because I counted all of my systems;

Main rig: 2x 80gb, 2x 250gb
Gaming rig: 1x 500gb for XP, 1x 500gb for Vista, 1x 250gb for Server 2003
SO's rig: 1x 250gb
HTPC: 1x 250gb
Lappy: 1x 160gb

Of course most of the drives are not anywhere full so my actual data space is below 1TB but to backup everything would take over 1tb for overhead. I will be using the 1tb drive I won at the Intel conference for backups...

Main Rig: 2x 500Gb in raid-0
2nd Comp: 750Gb
3rd Comp: 160Gb
4th Comp: 60Gb
5th Comp:2x 40Gb

And a 400Gb drive i might use soon
