This isn't really a mod at all. Just a solution to my HD issues.
I needed a large internal storage device because I use many OS's and having a external storage device wouldn't help me because I can't boot from them.
Anyway, I had a 500GB external HD and I needed a 500GB internal HD.
So, I asked here if I could do it and it turned out to be unbelievably simple.
Really.
Now, I have an internal HD. go me o.o

Maybe this will be helpful to someone else who was in my situation.

This is her.

I first unscrewed the end piece and this is what it looked like out of the enclosure.

Then I took off the other end piece.
Then I took off the chip connected to the sata port.

Then I took off the side pieces and I was done.

This is the chip itself. I might need it if I ever have a internal drive I want to turn external.

Nice guide. I'm at school right now, so I can't see the pictures, though:(.

Thanks. And the pictures are kind of blurry; I took them with my blackberry. But, its not so bad, it takes some pretty nice photos.

Nice. I was thinking of doing that with my external but Its my backup harddrive that I leave off in case of total loss on my main Harddrives. I am keeping a eye out for a 1TB drive though.. :D

That chip should work on any SATA drive that you have lying around. Really, I guess the whole enclosure would.
