so what video card should i go for? and iv decided to change the mother board to one that will support 16g memory. is it best just to go for the extra bit and go for the skulltrail mbo?

Depends if you're an ATI or nVidia kinda person I sp'ose. I'd personally say if you were gonna spend that much on a computer, why not go all out. If you like the ATI route (they're actually on top right now as far as performance goes, this is coming from someone who is actually a nVidia fanboy) go with a HD 4870 x2. If you go for nVidia, who has a history of better compatibility with Intel proc's, I'd say go for the gtx 280. It really doesn't matter too much because both cards will play almost all games smoothly with the exception of Crysis on a 30".

first of all. why the heck go with 4 velociraptor drives? buy one and then 2 wd 1 tb black drives- more space, and almost the same speed velociraptor is for os.. everything else is dumb

4 gb ram is more than every normal person uses.. so if you arent rendering a 3d image, dowloading, hearing music, and plaing supreme commander and crysis at the same time you will never max out 4 gb.. and never 8 or 16. go for super fast ddr3 instead.. pc14000 maybe, the ram you picked there is ****te and slow.. at least pc8500... and since the board can use ddr3 why not go for it

a skulltrail board is not needed if you arent doing stuff like HEAVY 3d rendering, photoshop work etc. not just playing with brushes and stuff but HEAVY:P

and then get a 4870x2 to get the game and grafic running.

what do you plan on using it for since your gonna put that huge ammoung of money into it?

this is gunna be used for sound recording, graphic design, and gaming.

on wich level?
the 3d design level im on is not taking all of my pc power... all i could use is a bigger cpu but my quad does it.

hell
if i had the money i would go for a system like that one, but with nahalem coming up, that would be a better choice if you are gonna use it on pro level.

so your gonna go for a 30" lcd and 2560*1600 res with full AA ? then your gonna need 2 4870x2 or 3 280´s.

I don't care how much money anyone has, that much money for a motherboard absolutely could not be worth it.
