So I was asked to go to the local Intel Channel Conference yesterday (10 minute walk from where I work) and in the afternoon the sales guy I went with attended the sales training seminar and I attended the interactive desktop workshop.

In the workshop they had us build systems using the following parts;

Mobo: Intel DG45FC (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121353)

Processor: Core2 Duo E8400 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037)

Memory: (some half height 2gb dimm I don't remember the product)

Hard Drive: WD 250gb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136161)

Blue-Ray DVD: GGC-H20LK (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136154)

Case: BM639 Mini-ITX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811108094&Tpk=BM639%20Mini-ITX)

Then to my surprise we got to take them home! (OK so I really did know we got to keep a desktop system, I just thought it was the mobo, memory and proc) The sales guy knew and he let me have the freebie since he went to the same AMD sales pitch 2 weeks ago and got a system based on the phenom processor. And to top things off they were raffling off many many prizes and even though I did not win the grand prize, I walked away with a 1tb Hitatchi drive and an Intel S3210SHLC (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121346&Tpk=S3210SHLC)!

I am buying a lottery ticket on the way home...

I just picked up an HDMI cable (native blueray decoder onboard) and I am checking it out tonight. I originally installed vista x64 but it runs too slow with only 2gb so I will either load vista 32bit or MCE. This little box is going to be my media center system and I need to get a controller for it. I currently have a spare keyboard and mouse, but want something a little nicer to put on the coffee table.

What do you guys suggest for a keyboard/mouse combo that looks god and functions well?

Congrats on the free stuff!

I would go for a gyro mouse for sure.. they are just so nice to use with a media center setup.
