Fallout 3 is released in the UK in a few days. At which point i'm going to immerse myself in a game I've waited years for. Anyone else excited? You sure better be. I don't care if you're a long time Fallout fan like me or you never even heard of the previous games. I've got my fingers crossed that this is going to immense.

After the wait, it better be absolutely incredible. Here's hoping guys.

If I drop off the face of the earth for a few years, I'll be in the wasteland. :D

Your opinions and expectations? Fire away.

Shouldn't this be in games? I am gonna wait until it drops in price in a month or two.

We have a games forum now? CRAP I'm outta the loop. All I ever do is spend my time in the staff forums, I haven't made a public post in so long I apparently forgot how it's done.

Promptly moved. I haven't made any other social faux pas have I? :)

Pre-ordered and eagerly awaited over here. You'll probably kill me Dave, but it's going on the shelf for a while. Gotta finish off Far Cry 2, which I am determined to do. I have so many games I've gotten half way through before leaving for a new release.

While I don't agree withe reasons behind the decision, I would hardly call the game 'watered down'. All that was changed was the name 'Morphine' to 'Med-X'. Hardly game-breaking and not really that big a deal. This time.

P.S Michael Atkinson is a twat.

Well, fellows, this game was AWESOME for about an hour. I hit a spot in the game (an unavoidable spot, of course) where it crashes every time. I get that lovely "Fallout 3 has encountered a problem and must close. We apologize for the inconvenience." screen and that's it. Over and over and over again. I've tried changing every setting I can change, I've made sure I have the latest video card drivers, no help. And the best part about PC games, my only recourse is to take it back and exchange it for a copy of the very same POS. Of course the game is too new to have any sort of help available for it. This is one reason I don't buy new games, but I thought hell, I'll give it a try. I'm out $50 for an hour's worth of entertainment. Great.

And fair warning, it took an HOUR to install.

They also removed the animations of your character injecting/taking the drugs...to be honest that seems like a good thing, I don't want to see an animation every time I use a damn stimpac.

Kind of disappointed in this one. I don't have any cash so I traded a few older games in and brought the price down.

Gameplay: If you have played Oblivion, you have played Fallout 3. They changed the scenery and the story, but otherwise it feels exactly the same.

Depth: After hearing the reviews and hype, I was expecting some sort of endless quest that explored vast wastelands. I beat the game in a couple of days!!! And unlike Oblivion, when you complete the primary quest the game is over and the credits roll. I found the game to be pretty simple in terms of quest complexity.

Atmosphere: Not bad, it did look good and there were some creative scenes, but honestly I think it was inferior to STALKER's take on a post-nuke wasteland.

Soundtrack: They did do a great job of adding character to the game by using some fantastic hits from the 1930's to be played from your PIP-boy 3000, but there are less than a dozen tracks that you will hear over and over and over. Too bad, they could have added a couple dozen more and really made it much better.

It was fun, but definitely did not live up to the hype.

Sob. In order to play this game, I've got to build a new system. Blue isn't up for the task it seems.

I'll get around to playin it someday. The classics never die; look at the Doom series.
