Okay, my friend want's me to buy his rig off him, he had to get a new mobo and processor and ram because he just got the GX2 and he has had some driver and compatabliliy issues with it...he want's me to buy his old rig off him, when I say OLD it isn't old I think the parts are great for what games I am playing here is his rig info:
Mobo:
Ai life sli-deluxe (A8N32)
Processor:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz (you can superclock it, he never clocked it when he had it )
Video Card: EVGA 256-P2-N516-RX GeForce 7800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card
Ram: 2.5 gigs CL2
and a 420 watt power supply...
I think its a great deal, what could go wrong? that rig isn't old at all and I'll save money and I'll be able to get an awesome LCD monitor....
what do you guys think?
I think it's fine for me, for what I am doing it's fine. This pc is very fast and I don't play to advanced games, I think its great.
I AM TRYING TO GET A GOOD PC FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I HAVE, I AM ON A TIGHT BUDGET!

I say it's not worth it. (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16556) Look at the last two posts in the thread that the link links to and tell me, or I guess, him, if it's worth it. The power supply has some problems too.

I'm thinking that it might be a better idea to save up for newer components that could be upgraded later on. My uncle actually got a Dell with a Q6600, 6GB RAM, 650GB HDD, a 300-350 Watt PSU, and no video card for ~$500, monitor not included.

did you see that combo deal posted?

theres a mobo and cpu deal.. just spend a bit more and get something that will be damn near future proof. if he buys from that guy, he only gets an outdated motherboard that takes original DDR and an old version of the 4400+. If he gets that combo deal, he can still buy his video card for $60, and save $40. plus i gave him a monitor, and 2gb of DDR2 PC2 3200 ram. all he needs is a case, psu, HDD and something else...? dont feel like thinking lol
I found that deal, but was too lazy to sign up here and post it. I am supplying him with a free legal copy of xp of vista. (x64, or 32 bit) and even offered him my almost new 8800GT for somewhere between $60-$90. I might also sell him this power supply for $25. dakxxus gave him 2GB DDR2 to use with the board in the combo deal. I was also going to give him a case for free and help him paint it. I think I'm still painting his optical drives. I also gave him a DVD-ROM drive. His friend will sell the 7800 for $60, and you all know that an 8800 will beat two 7800s. His friend's deal only gives him the CPU, old motherboard, and original DDR ram. I offered him a computer with a socket 775 P4 3GHz and a PCIe slot for free until he could find something better, but he said no. I am also going to be the one who helps him with the build and setup of his new computer. I have been trying to convince him that it isn't a good deal for a while now.

I think that if you are like me, and really on a budget then go for it, as long as nothing is broke, it seems like an alright deal. But, if you can afford better parts (maybe not right now though), then wait and get the better parts.

If you look at my last post, what I put together for him is better, and will cost less. He is, most likely, buying my cooler master 550W PSU, for probably $25.
