I'm getting into serious case modding, none of that window cutting, paint jobs, airbrushing, no this time, its all material modding.

I've been working in an artistic background for a wile and I'm really good at painting but my work with plasics is limited.

I'm looking to know how to make plastic forms (sort of like the doom 3 case)

what materials I will be needing

My first 2 projects are war related

The first is a "DoD" case as my friends have been calling it

with the alllies and the Axis both fully done, full intentions mostly a Paint work with a few added materials Each side with the banner flags and a represenation

The second project which will be long term will be a hand built LAV-25 with a a remote controle car built into it (removable HD is an obvious must :P)

Which is where I want to know where I can get either a good small but long ATX case something like a fragbox...

of cource I will be building most of the frame out of metal any sugestions on how to go about metal (alluminum) construction?

Questions Bluntly
- Whats a good way to go about alluminum frame constructions (materials and tools list would help)
- Plastic molds and that plastic puddy stuff where can I get the stuff and how do most of you go about working with it?

The DoD case is getting its final rub down today and basic constructions should begin soon

Somehow I smell a plug for Paul's book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0789731924/qid=1133756894/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/102-0425391-7992161?n=507846&s=books&v=glance) on scratch-building a case coming. :p

As far as tools for working with aluminum, you're going to want a good saw - a scroll saw is very handy - as well as a dremel, a drill press, probably a rivet gun, hole saw, grinding wheel and a couple files, not to mention a good sturdy bench vise and some clamps.

If by the "plastic putty stuff" you mean Bondo, the easiest place to find it is in automotive shops, like Pep Boys here in the U.S. Hardware stores often carry it, too. For a good example on how to work with it, check out the Fossil Mouse mod tutorial video (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/index.php?module=htmlpages&func=display&pid=8) and Defyant's stunning HP Res 3 Mega mod (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=550). Both of these are great examples on how to work with this stuff.

When it comes to working with metal, I'm not the best guy to ask, but go bug TribalOverkill, he's been doing very impressive things with it in his mods, especially BlackOut (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=745).

Also read the forums. If you see a question like yours read it.

Very close to the same question has poped up over and over again in the last few days.

and before yours was posted http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1613 as the same question.

Not to be jumping down on you, but if it seems like your not getting yours answers it might be for that reason.
