I kid you not. So far I've seen a TV report and two news articles online.

"The mayor of Batman, Turkey, is suing Warner Bros. and The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan for using the Cape Crusader's name without the city's permission."

Might want to protect any Batman case mods and inspired art while you're at it guys... Probably a good thing we don't have any Batman smilies either.

Well, I suppose this is gonna kill some tourism, as Batman fans won't go to Batman wearing Batman clothes for fear of being sued by Batman for liking Batman. Batman. :D

O.M.G. Batman (the city) is real. Batman (The river) is real.

Too bad that they are about what.. 50 years (?) too late to serve notice. Also, Batman is a town/city in Uzbekistan.

If it's in an US court of law, the city has no chance. A quick google of "Budweiser vs Budvar" will bring up a similar lawsuit that will ultimately be won by the side with the most lawyers.
