I've been back and forth through google and any other search engine. i would like a piece of software I can place on my desktop and monitor; CPU, Harddrive space, RAM usage, network usage from the one computer. I just want to be able to have this on my second monitor and at a glance be able to tell if something could be wrong with say my wifes computer cpu shoots and stays at 100% for no reason and shes at work. Anybody know of anything that can do those things?

I haven't checked any of these out personally, so I'm not sure how well they will fit your needs.

Here is one that has a Free and Pro edition. I'm sure the free edition would suffice: http://manageengine.adventnet.com/products/opmanager/comparison.html

One that is a bit more intrusive. Maybe if you have a daughter you wanna spy on:http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Access_Control_Utilities/Activity_Monitor.html

More Shareware, but that shouldn't be a problem for you: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/System_Maintenance_and_Repair_Utilities/EF_System_Monitor.html

And then some more that might fit your needs: http://sh-ot.freedownloadscenter.com/monitor-of-network-computers.html

I'll give that first on a try. I don't want any 'spying' software just something to watch my disk space, cpu loads, etc. Thanks a ton.

I use a program called Samurize. It is a desktop monitoring suite with support for remote computers (if they have a samurize server set up, which is included in the free download).

This might be the exact thing that you need, and you should be able to configure alerts for 100 CPU usage, though having it only active at certain times would be the trick.

Screenshot of my current desktop below. Mine currently is in a sad state, but it is the thing with text all over the place.

Samurize was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this. I once had it all setup to do exactly that, but since have swapped computers out here and there and have been too busy to set it back up. Using plink from the PuTTY suite I was also able to monitor one of my linux servers located in a colo. Samurzie is extremely flexible, but because of that it can be very tedious to get it exactly like you want.

I have to thank everyone for the suggestions. I went ahead and downloaded Samurize. Works wonderfully. I just need to read up some more on how to get the network monitoring setup right. When I try to connect to the folder I have the XML files saving too. Keeps saying it can't connect to the computer even though the directories are shared. Here's a shot of what I have so far.
