It's as the title says. I need a new mouse for my gaming pc.

i had this (http://www.keenzo.com/showproduct.asp?M=SAITEK&ID=1208092&ref=GB) in mind. It'll match my new Cyborg keyboard i just got. (review of that coming soon!)

Above all, i want something that lights up big time, and at least 5 buttons.

Also, under $100 would be cool.

Opinions are greatly valued and appreciated :)

If you're looking for a good mouse, I would recommend a Razer. They're comfortable and quite stylish. Link (http://www.razerzone.com/p-66-razer-lachesis-gaming-mouse.aspx)

It has plenty of programmable buttons (9 total).

I've read some reviews about the Saitek Cyborg and have heard that its only ok.

Like ProgBuddy said, Razers are very good mice. However I personally prefer Logitechs. I've owned a G5 and am currently using a G9. I absolutely love the G9, so much so that I wrote a review for it right here on TBCS. (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12310)

No matter what I'd stick with Razer, Logitech. Silverstone and Microsoft also make good mice, but they are newer to the market.

Hope that helps,
Indybird

I'm currently using the Logitech V450 Nano, I LOVE IT. I upgraded from original V450, which I was more than satisfied with, but wanted the "nano receiver", which is extremely awesomely small by the way. Major +rep to logitech for creating such a tiny receiver, just what I always wanted!

Here is a list of Logitech mice that I would recommend (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=50001080%2040000065%201083607056&CompareItemList=N82E16826104079,N82E16826104015,N8 2E16826104203,N82E16826104016,N82E16826104080,N82E 16826104076,N82E16826104217&page=2&bop=And&Order=PRICED&SpeTabStoreType=0). Personally, I'd go for the G9, but if I had to settle for less I would go with the G5. Although I will admit I am quite madly in love with the MX Revolution, but I realize its not for everyone because of its size and shape as well as high price.

Logitech is a bit like Google, they can do no evil. :)

...not with their mice and speaker systems anyways.

As for Razer mice, I would go with any one of THESE (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=50002202%2040000065%201083607056&name=Laser&SpeTabStoreType=0), if only for the awesome names. But any one of their mice will make you think "damn, this baby is overkill!". At least thats the impression I've always gotten from them, their mice kick major ass.

As for everything else, they are just toys compared to any of the ones I listed. :)

...although I do like the microsoft sidewinder. Its a pretty cool looking mouse, but to me it doesn't feel like it "glides" as smoothly as other top notch mice. It gives me a kind of gimmicky feel about it too, not sure why though.

@Indybird: That Silverstone mouse.... I... I just... I just don't know what to say about it... I don't know if I should kill it with fire... or pretend it never existed? LOL only kidding. But seriously, that is one interesting looking mouse! lol

I have the G9. I like it a lot but find that it is a little small for me. If you big hands (mine are 7.5 inches (~18.5cm) long) then you might want to go with something else. My biggest recommendation would be to go to your local big-box place and see which mouse fits your hand best.

I recommend the Logitech G7 to anyone. I love it, never had a better mouse. I also recommend Razer but try it before you buy. Because Razer mice are made ambidextrous I as a right hander find it really uncomfortable to use. My brother has one and I can't bring myself to use it. They are good mice though.

Right now I'm running a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000. It's cheapy, but it works, and it is sensitive enough for my application :]

One of my most favorite mouse of all time was the Logitech Mouseman Wheel. Its an old mouse, so good luck finding it, but I found that to be the most comfortable mouse for mid to large sized hands. It's a four button scroll wheel USB mouse, and I will probably be using it until the cord severs.

I will be getting a G9 soon though for my gaming rig, and as most others I have to recommend that as well.

I recommend the G5, it's what I use and it fits my hands fine.

All very great suggestions... hmm.

i'm leaning mostly towards the G7.
it's sleek and has lotsa buttons, and it's overall mod-a-bility seems kinda high up there. particularly for a new paint job.

the g9 looks cool too, but kinda big. also, i'm not sure what i could do to it to mod it up...everything is still kinda up in the air though...

thanks a bunch all!

The G9 is a lot smaller than it looks. I think there are some good compare shots online. It's shorter than many of the other Logitech mice.

I have that saitek mouse, personally I like it, it is a little gimmicky with the hat switch (which i find to be unusable) and the fact that you can extend it to fit your hand which is quite a nice feature, but not one to buy the mouse based on. One feature that I do particularly like is the fact you can change the resistance of the scroll wheel, there are only 3 settings on it but I find it helps with in game weapon switching (and not switching by accident). I have also used one of the razor banshee mice but for me it wasnt the best fit for my hand, and the mouse buttons didnt give me a good feel for some reason. accuracy etc on both are perfectly acceptable however.

other than that, virtually every gamer I know seem to like the logi's and the razor's. No-one else I have come across as yet have used the Saitek. If i was to buy again, i dont know if i would get the Saitek, it is a comfortable mouse (but it does take a little getting used to with that funny gap for your thumb) and as I already said, i find the rocker button type thing rather difficult to use accurately, and is thus near to useless for me. I would be more likely one of the other 2 makers I mentioned (prolly Logitec if im honest) and try them out properly.

Logitech brand mice are awesome. I had a MX Revolution for the longest as I have teh same problem most have. I have extremly large hands. It was compfortable until I ofund my current mouse which is a Microsoft Sidewinder and I love it. It actually feels comfortable when I am in my long gaming sessions. I would highly recomend it to anyone but I would suggest you try and find one to try before you buy it because it definatly is different.

The Razer Lacheisis is the best mouse I have ever used, Coming from a G518 , then a G7, and the razer mouse is by far the best
