According to an article (posted below), since two year old Matilda was not left with any money from the late Heath Ledger's old will, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell have decided to donate whatever salaries they receive from making this movie to her.

Ledger died before being able to complete his role in the film, and rather than scrap his filmed parts and start over from scratch, Depp, Law, and Farrell stepped up to take over from where he left off so his role could remain in the final production of the film.

Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell have donated their fee for completing Heath Ledger's final film role to the late star's daughter.

The acting trio agreed to play versions of Ledger's character Tim in The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus following his death in January.

And they decided to donate their fees to two-year-old Matilda - Ledger's daughter with actress Michelle Williams - because the star left an old will which did not include the little girl.

Director Terry Gilliam has praised the actors for their generosity, saying: "They didn't take money - it goes to Heath's daughter.

"That's extraordinary! And wonderful... and when you're part of that, you think, 'Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning. I thought it would be full of wonderful people.' And we've got a movie full of wonderful people who did extraordinary things to help.

Awesome. I shall definitely be going to the movies when this one comes out, if only because of this reason.

Me too. This movie was slated to be awesome with just Heath Ledger. But now with three more highly capable actors meshing for the lead role, the added emotion going into the film to make it a lasting memory of Ledger, and now knowing that the actors contributed to this memory selflessly its incredible to think of what we will be seeing when it comes out.

It's not what you take with you, but what you leave behind. Mr. Ledger obviously left behind a good deal to produce this kind of response.
