hey again... ok guys and girls heres the deal... i love my mum and looking at her computer as it is along side my desk it shames me to not have it modded..

so i thought about it and i said to myself to thank her for taking me to america and for just being my mum i decided to make her a case.. and i thought about it and i thought of an elvis themed case...

so yeah i did some work this weekend at killermans house and he worked on his and this is what i did...

Holy Crap, +rep.

I thought I was crazy scratch building a whole case with a drill and a freaking mini-hacksaw, but cutting ELVIS out of a steel side panel with a fricken screwdriver and a hammer. WOW! That is some serious patience and determination. Just WOW!

Dedication indeed. I've used an awl, hammer, and file to make fan holes, but that's it... and yes, Nightrain, mini-hacksaws are invaluable... damn.

the whole time i was think i hope my mum loves this... grrrr..... then ah noes i hit my hand again ah teh pain.. lol

oh the screwdriver was only 3mm wide .... oh got it was the biggest one i could find.... FAIL

gunna go cut the other on in a min... bigger screwdriver :) this step above took roughly 7hours or round about i think

Screwdriver and hammer!? JEEZ! Well, it still looks to be coming along great. You should wrap it in white leather and then do those paper pins. That would look cool. haha

also working on another case so i will do this when i get home tomorrow
and maybe cut out the side pannel for the other case also


so yeah.... ill upldate tomorrow night for the side pannel then thats about it untill the weekend or maybe longer... need to buy the split pins and then drill all 130 holes... then front mound the front two fans and the switches... then file all the letters then paint and im done :)

lol well i tried a few diff ways... drilling then cutting... resulted in alot of filing
and cutting with dremel and i wore throught them like butter... so thick.... this was the easiest way...

planning to cut out the rest of pannel 2 tonight... but might not... really loud!!!

guys its done... the sign cutting anyway.... smacked my hand before.... it was a frigan beauty..... hurt alot.... all done tho :P pics tomorrow.... still need to file,drill holes for pins, get pins, paint case, drilll for switches. and cut out front for 2 80mm fans :)

I don't know if you have home depot there, but I got a nice file set for 20 or 25 a month or so ago. If you don't have a store there they may ship it to you online.

well... for this project and the next im probably looking at about 15meters or so of filing straight lines.... so im going to last out and buy an electric file... sounds stupid... great idea... 140bucks aussie and yeah.. think ill buy one...

work like an electric carving knife but filing instead.... may get one this weekend... i hope :)

i do have a dremel... the cutting blades just were not working this pannel is thick man,..


like a 1.5" disc lasted like half a letter
and the cheap ones like 15 for the other half a letter.....

thats a waste..

lol i got one fore arm bigger than the other now... im a left hitter and a right holder.. lol

so right hand is bigger than left due to swelling and left forearm is bigger than right due to muscle...

Get a jigsaw lol, or reinforced cutting disks, save u a ton of time.

It could also be that you are applying too much pressure on the cutting wheel. I've cut an entire window with one disk on a steel Dell case.. it just took a loonnngg time.

Yeah that may be it. I cut a whole window out of a steel side panel only using 1 reinforced disk.

Brilliant idea. As mentioned earlier, white leather would totally finish this mod off. Dont forget a themed logon sound and wallpaper. That's what I'm doing for my Project SpongeBob.

this pc has no sound... no idea why... need the sound drivers but cant find em on the net..

and i put as little pressure on the discs... its just super thick..

For the sound drivers go to device manager and select the device, click properties\drivers and click update, should do it for you.
