Time for a complete upgrade. My Rig "frost" is out dated, seen in action here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R0WsQJ-FR0
2R0WsQJ-FR0

This is what I have so far.

Intel core 2 duo extreme, Antec p160w case, Rainbow six vegas, and hyper tyre r PSU - waiting on mobo, memory, and video card.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/refrost3.gif

Waiting for the rest of my parts gives me more time to re-mod the rig.
I chose Frost for the name to come up with a Blade Theme. Frost/Decon Frost/LaMagra/Blood Mod(god) ect.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/LaMagra.gif

I ended up with LaMagra "The Blood MOd" - and soon after ideas were flowing, literally. I dont like the idea of liquids in my system, cooling or other wise, but I have an idea...

I plan on taking the huge window, with 3 bevels sunk in almost a 1/2 in deep, and make a blood waterfall. Gonna cut 3 pieces of plexi, a 1/8" bigger than each bevel, and clear caulk them over the exsisting bevels creating a 1/2" cavity. From the inside top of bevels (seen in red) I'll drill a hole into the cavity for a small cooling barb connector and hose. Also
at the bottom for a return. what I'm looking for is a way to pulse pump the liquid to the top. I'll work on this l8tr.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/refrost1.gif

I also decided to paint the chassis since I have more time. Its nice that all the parts come out easy, but a hell of alot of prep and taping. I taped the bars so they remain anodised aluminum. And any parts that may touch the PSU.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/tape.gif

Im not gonna paint the Mobo mount panel yet, till I see what the mobo looks like on it. mobo is black, so was gonna paint the mount black, but again the little panel that will show might look better not painted.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/mobomount.gif

I decided to go with a black metallic flake. And glad I did.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/paint.gif

After the paint dried, I had to get started on how I plan on getting the blood flowin, so to speak. I was going to use regular 1/4" hose barbs and actually thread them into the window, but they were huge, and tapping plexi is difficult.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/barb.gif

So I took an easier path. I'm using 3/8 clear hose, and quick connects usually used for Ice makers and such. I know this sounds scary, but they hold normal constant house pressure at 28 - 40 lbs, and this set up will have no real pressure.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/parts.gif

I originally planned on using the connects mounted to the window. One problem, when I checked the window to make sure theres room for the connects, the top most part of the bevels is rite at the bottom of the cross rail. I thought this was going to be a problem, but it turned out to be an even better solution. Its gonna make alot more work for me, but the connects are going to mount to the rail, and protrude into the window. OK time to break out ol faithful.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/rotozip.gif

I have to do a bit of cutting to attach the connects to the now called "blood rail".

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/rail1.gif

I measured up where the connects should go and drilled 3/8" holes, used cutting wheels to remove some of the metal. Then used a solid carbide burr set, and mini files to sweetin it up a bit.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/rotozip1.gif

Ok, now were getting somewhere...

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/rail2.gif

Had to do a little extra work to get the third connect in because it sits behind the drive bays, but Ive gone this far so....

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/rail3.gif

Mobo should be here soon but I cant wait and jumped the gun painting the mobo panel red. Hope its not overkill. The mobo should cover 90% of this leaving just a few hints of red.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/mobored.gif

Now the fun stuff: I cut out some templates for the plexi I need to cut. I want it to look out of the box perfect, so this may take some time.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/plexitemp.gif

I also came up with an idea on how to move the "blood". I'm going to have to build a blood bank, with a fan blowing into it forcing the water to go where I want it. This way I can hook the fan up to the last unused port of my Light / Fan Bus, and hopefully be able to adjust the flow.

Damn It sound so good, but will it work properly ? And with this design, I should have no worries about water entering my system. If a window should leak, it will bleed out on the out side of case, and onto the floor.

Welcome to modding 101, todays lesson will be PWNAGE !

hint: if your crappy home depot doesnt have a plexi cutter, and no hardware stores close by...

I wanted to get this done and my old plexi knife was too worn in to make a nice cut. I took my exacto knife, and ran it backwards across the plexi. Worked great, better control, thinner line, but had to score it several times to get a good snap. for the round parts, I went back to the roto zip, and cutting disks.(wear goggles) - Its weird when you cut plexi with a cutting disk, looks like cotton candy & melts, but takes alot of the "meat" off, so I can slowly worked it down.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/window4.gif http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/window5.gif http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/window6.gif

I have my 3 over lay windows, just gotta take off the templates. I marked the case window where I need to make holes for the connects to run through, and drilled holes, and made sure it was plum. this was actually the easiest thing to do so far..

thats for today..

Got quite a bit more done. Attached the hoses and connectors to the blood rail, and put the first coat of metalic paint that will hopefully match the anodized alum.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/update3.gif

Top rail pretty much done, so I glued the windows I made over the bevels with aquarium caulk, and started on the returns. ( I have never used aquarium cement before. I was going to use marine quality caulk . It turns out it was only 6 bucks for this stuff, and its meant for holding water for long periods of time. Its very thick but good S**T and it worked.)

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/update4.gif

I even glued the returns on with it, gave it 24 hrs and a water tested it. I'm very happy with the results. I now have three small bloodfalls..

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/update5.gif

I was going to use a fan to blow air into a acrylic "box" and force the liquid to the top and back through the returns. But it was easier to spend a few more bucks to buy a decent resevior and water pump:

water pump:
Alphacool AP700 Coolpump - 190GPH

Resevior:
Thermaltake AquaBay M3

I cant do much more till I get the pump and res. should be here fri...

So I was doing homework and decided I should distract myself by coming onto TBCS to see what's happening. Good thing I did because you are doing some amazing work!

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/update5.gif
This picture looks so cool to me for some reason. The water and the reflections look magical. I really don't know how to put my thoughts into words right now. It just looks like a summoning spell from an RPG game or anime show and a water spirit is going to emerge any moment now.

Anyways, I don't know if you got the actual blood liquid figured out. But this came to mind when I was reading your worklog. I'm not sure how good it actually looks though.

New parts arrived today, minus the mobo that should of been here 2 days ago.
The raptors, resevior and pump. At least I have somthing to work with. And yes as always
some silica gel if I get hungry. I ordered some blood red uv reative fluid for this puppy.
someone sugested I use my own blood for this, but I got faint after the first few ounces. While its apart I cleaned out the sweet pull out air filter in the front of this thing.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/new4.gif

The pump was way bigger then I expected, but the case seems to like it. It fit in the bottom, with room to work with hoses. This is where I hid my CCFL converters, so I expect problems when I get that far. I threaded the new connects into the pump, and sealed them.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/new5.gif http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/new6.gif http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/new7.gif

I dont want to connect any hoses till all parts are in, and I finished wire manage. That mobo is holding me up. I did want to trim the windows to hide the caulk line, and connects. I started with a red vinyl trim, but ripped it off rite away, just didnt look rite. I'm gonna experiment with this while I wait for the mobo. Maybe a carbon fiber, or mirror look.

I didnt like the template idea for the window. nothing really looked good. I had a few scratches in it so I figured I try out some plexi repair stuff, then paint it. after looking at the directions, I realized its nothing more than wet sanding, with fine grit solutions. Hell Im gonna do the whole window with it. , good idea, but wow took a few hours to do it. Looks great though.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/magra1.gif http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/magra2.gif http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/magra3.gif

I covered the windows with a template and sprayed it the same color as the chassis. Thats all im doing with it for now. I want to paint greyish lines over the spay paint to make it look like stone bricks. But now I just want to get things moving.

I'm ready to slap this together, and ran into my first 2 problems.
1 - forgot to order a cpu fan
2 - hyper type r doesnt come with a p4 + p4 connector.

Had to run out to comp use to get a cheezy cpu fan till I find one I like.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/magra5.gif http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/magra6.gif

They had a decent one for 30 bucks, not real purdy, but itll get me going. And I found the perfect PSU. Chrome, with black snake skin look sleaving.
AEROCool Zero dba 670w modular - friggin sweet. So if anyone is interested in a hyper type r blue, pm me.

I hear ya produkt, norton takes alot. but I built this for performance,

intel core 2 duo extreme
2048 corsiar twin x
Nvidia 680i sli
gforce 7950 vid card
2 x 40 gig 10,000 rpm raptors raid 0

Its set up for one raptor OS only
second raptor gaming only
I have a 350 gig for everything else on ata(dont care if they run slower)
Its runs like a wet dream, not to mention vista ultra takes half a 40 gig, and a sh*t load of mem itself. Like 45 Processes from start.

When playing Ravenshield I used to disable norton while I played. Now I keep photoshop CS open, voice recognition, emule, winamp, norton, and whatever open while I play, not a glitch.. And again, Im completely broke now..but hey consider this a review for the antec p160w,vista,core 2 duo, nvidia mobo, and vid card,

Sombody get a MEDIC !!!, PC Down, lol - One of the connectors had half an o-ring in it. Something I should have checked. No damage, and I'm glad this happened. I designed it so If it ever did leak, it would only drip to the bottom. And it did that.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/medic3.gif

Whats this? ah, you'll see.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/medic1.gif

Anyway after the leak, I double checked a few things and sealed it back up, gave it a day, and started re-filling. First wet run complete. I'll work on the windows a bit and get back to ya.

http://kreativepc.com/kre8sion/bloodmod/medic4.gif

Oh and call the police, ya know I just murdered that p160w case.

I'm goin with glyph appliques, translucent red decon frost glyph, and pro etch appliques of the three best clans of the House of Erebus. I also used silver mirror appliques to cover the connectors. I didnt realize what the House of Erebus was till I did some research while looking for glyph pics.

house of erebus clans - if anyones interested:

I chose Dragonetti the purist, Lemure the coolest, and Von Esper the most violent.
Sweet..I'd have some really great pics for ya, but I ran into problem 3. The dual sound/light bus running the white ccfl's stuck in on position. every thing is perfect, and I'm not opening the case again. I took apart another one I have , and will solder it this weekend.

A few have asked so here it is. It took alot of work actually to get it to work the way I wanted. I had to actually burp the rig. the pump at the bottom, has to pump to the top 3 connects, was very hard to prime. first I only had the first window and alot of air, the pump pulls so much that it was pulling the fluid from the first return, and air from the other two, and not pumping to them. then after adding more fluid to the resivior, turning the pump on and off repeatedly, I slowly got a balance, after a while the resivior would collect the air, I'd open the fill cap and put more fluid in, displacing the air. filling the res and giving me steady streams at full, and trickle at lower speeds. what you probably asking is why it works, and its not recommended unless you know what your doing. As you can see below, im not pulling from the res and pumping to the system like in a cooling unit. I'm actually forcing pressure into the resivior, forcing the fluid out to the top( I installed an o-ring in the fill cap) - long story shorter, the system is sealed, the pump has to pump and pull the same amount. The res is just a dump station, it also drians a bit to the windows when its off, keeping the pump primed. and there will always be air in the windows, but in a sealed loop, the air pushes as hard as the fluid. I'll be honest, I knew it would work. I didnt know it would work this well..

Thanks, I been busy workin on the video share project, the embed code is under the video in red as well as the url. I also created a youtube channel pimpinrigz that has some of the videos, but youtube only allows 100 mb, pimpinrigz hold 350, with a huge 480 x 385 video player, and you can store your images for forums. :devious:
