I think it would be difficult if not nearly impossible to actually make it look like a Winnebago, so...
http://i3.ebayimg.com/04/i/07/4b/10/26_3.JPG
Should I just buy a winnebago and chop it up, then reassemble it around the UPS?

Alrighty let's get started. I gutted the Winnebago.
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/3756/seats8ph.jpg
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/7223/rusty17bn.jpg
http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/8691/rusty25jl.jpg
I opened the top.
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/8613/plan16az.jpg
And dropped in the UPS. It's a perfect fit as far as length and width, but height.....
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1693/plan26nl.jpg
When I measured it before I assumed that the height of the winnebago was the same on the inside as the outside. But I never really considered the bottom.
http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/6993/plan39cg.jpg
The inside is just 17cm
http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/660/plan44qx.jpg
The UPS is 22cm
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/2166/plan58bn.jpg
And the outside of the winnebago is 22cm....
http://img302.imageshack.us/img302/1047/plan68am.jpg
I could fabricate some kind of shell with the wings attached that could go on top to cover the top of the winnebago. Or pull out the bottom and set it lower. What to do?
I rented the movie too.

Lucky me, the bottom is attached with rivets. Which I've removed many times before.
http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/5794/rivetjh4.jpg
Once they were all out, I used a hammer and beat the bottom down to it lowest position (22cm).
http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/3055/pushedlt9.jpg
Now it looks like a monster truck.
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8761/tall1ri0.jpg
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4758/tall2kc0.jpg
Next I pulled out the windows. Each side is one long piece.
http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/2455/windowset8.jpg
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/5373/nowindow1ek8.jpg
Then the windshield.
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/470/windshieldhu8.jpg
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/1442/nowindow2gw1.jpg
I have the paint bought too. Cream and brown.
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/1411/creambrownvi5.jpg
I figure that I can cut out aluminum pieces to cover the open areas, then Bondo.

I know about the whole watching it on my computer, but I didn't feel like it. Also, it's not gonna look like a monster truck, I got it figured out. It's gonna look as close to the original as possible. One thing I can't change is where the "W" is. In the movie, it's over the back tire. On my Winny it's over the front. Oh well.
And I'm having problems with the paint; it's not sticking. After 3 coats, I applied painters tape on it to get ready to paint the "W" brown. It was on for all but 3 seconds when I pulled it up to straighten it and off came my 3 coats of paint!!!!!!!! What to do?

Almost looks good from here.
http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/6385/w4ah9.jpg
But it still looks like crap.

http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/3117/w7ux0.jpg
I hereby cancel this mod. I've wasted nearly 3 cans of spray paint on it and would still have to start over agian. But I am not going to. I quit, lock this thread.
There are better mods ahead.

I'm trying to recreate the sticker on the door just like:

But due to lack of any useful software and very little in the way of skills....

I had to apply bondo to the front, because its got to be like the movie.
http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/9135/upsbondo1rd9.jpg
Next comes the wheels.
http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/5033/wheels1sd9.jpg
Since the bottom had to be dropped, the wheels are going to be too wide
http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/8458/wheels2cm4.jpg
So I cut them in half
http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/5448/wheels3zp6.jpg
I had to use this saw because I'm doing it at 11:00 p.m. and my kids are asleep
http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/3783/wheels4qm3.jpg
It actually only took about 5 minutes.

After a lot of time and breaks inbetween finishing Interceptor, I will complete this mod. But there's a change. The UPS I was going to use for this Mod is DEAD. I have no idea how. Anyway, I think I want to try to make a PC instead using a Mini ITX.
I did some testing today. I wired up my Epia M10,000 Mini ITX to an ITX sized PSU, a spare CD drive and a 30GB hard drive from an old Creative Nomad MP3 player.
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/56/miniitx1dv3.jpg
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/6785/miniitx2xo5.jpg
Here's my ITX and my tiny HD
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2662/miniitx3gh3.jpg
The BIOS don't show my HD or CD drive so I changed the cable twice and still nothing. I guess the actual mobo port is bad??
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/5013/miniitx4bd7.jpg
I moved on to the front grill and added a fresh layer of bondo
http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/9361/newbondojh3.jpg
Then sanded.

I will.
I'm going to add a power button and 2 usb ports to the outside.
http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/1890/usbadapterhp6.jpg
I put the ITX inside the Winnebago. As you can see, I'll have a crapload of space for whatever.

So I made the wings and props.
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3222/wing1ki6.jpg
And added rivets
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3247/wing2lb4.jpg
Looks pretty good
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/1639/wing3kl9.jpg
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/6200/wing4ax3.jpg
http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/8332/wing5gd8.jpg
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3618/wing6rq4.jpg
Once they were attached I scoured the sheet metal so it could be bent.
http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/6310/wing7xh7.jpg
First Down...
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/695/wing8nx1.jpg
Then even.

I cut out the wings and riveted them to the frame
http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/9177/addwings1eu9.jpg
http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/4564/addwings2ks4.jpg
Here's with the roof up. I really like this feature, especially for a computer.
http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/4781/addwings3fl1.jpg
As you can see there's a slight gap on the underside where the wing hits the prop,
http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/4655/addwings4bh7.jpg
So I'm adding bondo! Man, I love this stuff.

So, here's this thin aluminum leg that came with the Weber grill I originally bought to obtain R2D2's head.
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/1729/engines1mn0.jpg
I pounded it in to an oval shape as it is in the movie.
http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/773/engines2mn6.jpg
http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/3967/engines3fu6.jpg
I finished sanding the bondo I applied earlier.
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/5564/engines4kx7.jpg
The area where the wings are attached to the winnebago go over the edge....
http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/4374/engines5yx5.jpg
So I folded them under with a hammer.
http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/7440/engines6tp1.jpg
And attached the engines.
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/8652/engines7ww8.jpg
More bondo, sanding, cutting and paint to come.

Time to work on the [front]panel. Here's an older case I had with an Athlon XP 1800+.

I'm gonna be stealing the USB, Audio jacks, and power from here

I'll mount the plate and then the USB.

For the last two days I've been working non stop on perfecting the wings. I've used bondo more than a dozen times in broad strokes and with a small pin to fill in all the tiny holes. There are still some small imperfections, but I'm going to ignore them and accept that I'm at the best I'll possibly ever get.

So, while I wait for some drying over at Project Namesake, I decided to toy around with Project Eagle 5!
I have the wheels cut in half so they can be added to the frame.
http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/7044/tired1zu1.jpg
But first they need another cut. I want to cut half way down to make a "shelf" for the body to sit on.
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/1838/tired2af2.jpg
http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4474/tired3jt6.jpg
