I did this before...just forgot how. Now I've got my OS reinstalled I was to set it back up. I did up the oemlogo.bmp and put it in the system32 folder, but its not showing up. Anyeone know the correct dimensions for it? I searched google and some say 180x180 px, 180x120 px, 176176px, none seem to work
also, as for the system.ini file, I set it up how I've seen to do, also does not show up. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
Will

172x172 or smaller. (Source (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314472), search for "Brand Your System Manually")
It may have to be in 256 colors, according to the discussion here (http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t44873.html).
EDIT: I just tried it through this page (http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/updike/764/oemlogo.html) and it worked. You've got to put 'em (oemlogo.bmp and oeminfo.ini) in System, not System32.

awesome, thanks a ton! It works in 24-bit BMP, and @ 180x120
+rep for the help, I think my issue was the .ini file, I created a notepad file but couldnt get it to save as a .ini file, it would save as oeminfo.ini.txt lol

when you save in notepad add quote marks around it, this will force it to save in what ever format you want

The image must be a bitmap and be no larger than 180 x 115 pixels.
And here's a dark tip that is somewhat hard to find:
From http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/77/
One color of the oemlogo.bmp image will be transparent, which means instead of displaying that color, the current System Properties dialog color is used. To designate the transparency color, edit all four corner pixels of oemlogo.bmp to be the exact RGB index (e.g. 0:0:0 for black, 255:255:255 for white, etc) for the desired color.
Have fun branding your Windows systems.

not true on the 180 x 115, mines 180x120 and worked just fine
and the transparency only works if its 8-bit or 4-bit color, 32 and 48-bit colors dont show transparencies, like my logo. My logo did when I had it in 8-bit mode

How is that done? That computer picture changes to a black and white one (or some kind of diminished color set) if you login to your machine using remote desktop. The OEM picture and text stay the same regardless of how you login to your XP machine.

I vote for a guide. That way we'll all know how to do this ourselves and it will help you earn rep points.

Hmm, XCom edition, but you left the "genuine Microsoft" bit alone? Bit of a shame, that.
Looks good though, man. Awaiting the guide eagerly.

I vote for a guide as well. I like how that looks better then mine. I've just done a little bit of editing to mine.
