Ey guys, its been a while. Rough times. Anyways, I'm working on a gift for my girlfriend and what I have in mind is way beyond my skills, I think. My primary concern at the moment is figuring out how to get some sort of module to play our song whenever a button is pushed. I haven't any designs yet cuz I want to see if such a thing is possible before I go ahead and start planning. If it helps, our song is around 4 min and 11 secs, give or take a couple of seconds.
Edit:
Oops I'm an idiot. Forgot about google. Found this thing-a-ma-jig (http://www.roguerobotics.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=114).
I guess what I'm wondering is how would I set up the speakers and stuff? What are the basic parts to a speaker set?
Thanks for any help you can give

This guy built something that could be adapted for your usage. :)
Speakers: Get a pair of desktop computer speakers, and plug them in. Plug in, turn on, press play. :)

I like the idea, but couldn't you get her an mp3 player with the song preloaded? I mean, it would be just as much as that board...
Otherwise, Creative has a whole line of smaller speakers that you could get, or buy one of those mini iPod speakers and make some changes...

Ooh, this is slightly unrelated but I think that a Rickrolling button would be awesome. Like modify a Staples "Easy Button" to do it, hahaha.

Take a look at the Vmusic2 (http://www.surplusgizmos.com/FTDI-Vmusic2-USB-Interface-For-Microcontrollers-w-MP3_p_47-198.html) It uses a USB thumb drive to hold the mp3's and a little micro controller to kick it off.
It's only $40, and there are plenty of how to's out there to help you get it up and running.
Heck I think there maybe a few programing guru's around here to lean on if needed.
