hi
i have an intel 3.0 ht processor
my last motherboard is gigabyte 865 gv
my motherboard is dead
now my question is?
can 3.0 ht processor supports intel 945 dg31 motherboard
i tried with asus 945 intel chipset motherboard
but it cannot work
please urgent any body help

More details? Can't really make anything out of this. If they are the same socket and they fit, and the motherboard supports the 533 MHz FSB, then it should work. If not, then you may have to update your BIOS.

the model # for the original board you gave is a socket 478 board and the second board only comes in socket 775 the two are not compatible.. you need a new cpu and mobo.. just do a full upgrade .. so much easier. Old hardware is more expensive and support for it is not good.. so get new stuff

You would have to get a new socket 478 motherboard if you want to continue using your existing processor. Just get a new processor to go along with the new motherboard that you mentioned, and sell the processor that you have now on ebay. The socket 478 P4s still get some money.
