I wouldn't go with the Samsung ones, as they have a glossy finish, and glare kinda ruins a movie. Also, look for the highest contrast ratio out of the bunch.

Don't forget to find one with a good response rate. Around 2ms is usually the best you'll find.

I think samsung measures their refresh rate in a non-standard way that gives them more favorable results. I don't like their glossy finish so much, either.

I like the Acer. It has an insanely high contrast ratio (which is a good thing). The only thing that I find odd is the lack of DVI ports.

I have a 37" one just like that in my living room. I have my Mac Mini attached to it as a media pc. I'll soon have a pc back on it though.. the Mac is just too gutless for anything but video and music.

The top one has a good resolution, and seems like it has good reviews.

I have a 37" Toshiba 720p TV, and the picture is great. It was the best picture that we could find at the time without spending $2500+ of the 1080p model. You can get the 1080p one now for under 1K.

+1. I have the one step down from the 32" Aquos only because I got a sick deal on it. I was going to get the Aquos but when I saved quite a few hundred dollars snatching up the model below it I couldn't resist.
It's been nothing but good to me. The extra little bit in contrast and brightness weren't worth the few hundred bucks over the deal I got, but both are sick tv's. Sound quality leaves a bit to be desired but who complains about integrated speakers?

do you guys think the price diffrence from 720p to 1080p is worht it

It depends on what the price difference is, and how much the better picture matters to you.

You posted the same link twice there.
I'm perfectly happy with my 720p tv, and given the difference in price, I'd go the same way again. :)

I'm happy with my 720p as well. If you want to make the most out of bluray and such then 1080 would be better, but that comes at a premium.
I hook up a computer to the lcd as well, for hulu and dvds streamed from my server and such. If i were to game I would much prefer a 1080 tv, but the 720 is doable as well.
I'd take the time to go to a retail store and take a look in person at some of the models and check out 720p tvs vs. 1080p and see how you feel then.
Edit: If your going to be doing a lot of computer stuff on it then I would go for an lcd monitor over lcd tv's. Console gaming will look great on either, but the quality will be higher on an actual lcd monitor than a 720p tv for computer use. Regular definition tv signals will look worse on the monitor than the lcd, but honestly wont look great on the tv's either. Gotta weigh your pro's and con's i guess.

Just get a digital TV tuner like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16815116015 There you go, high definition. You might want to get one of the monitors that goes up to 1080, rather than 1050, though.

$130 difference. Get it if you are going to be playing blu-ray dvds on it and/or hooking your computer up to it if you can afford it. That's what I would do, at least.

well i hope to be able to get it well it will probably be outdated by the time we get the extra cash lol , that would be a sweet monitor.
