ok i have a problem, i just finish installing everything in my case and saving the processor for last. i have a Zalman 7000 heatsink, there are 2 instructions to install this one for a 478 socket and thats just mounting it with a few add ons and the other is for a 939 socket with a back plate that has to be installed behind the motherboard of the 939...question is now...is it possible to install it as a 478 or i have to take everything apart and do it the right way...please help...

Thank you

It's impossible to mount it as a 478.. those boards use standoff's behind the mobo to support the weight of the stock heatsink. The 939 has to have to back plate behind the board to attach the adapter plate to the front of the board, which is necessary to mount your cooler. Hope that makes sense.

Yeah i see what you mean now if i installed it the 478 way it might do some damage to the board because of the stress of the weight...ok i see what you mean what the backplate is for

Thank you for the help
happy xmas!!
