please will people stop WINEing about running things in linux, them days are long gone, debian based systems can use .DEB installers, suse/redhat based can use .RPM,

and then theres the resposotory systems (Synaptic - Ubuntu, YAST - SUSE, YUM - Redhad/Fedora)

and then there was the suttle hit at the top (As suttle as a sledge hammer, you can't see it, then don't use linux)

I'm still trying to configure a linux box, when I manage to successfully do it, I'll be posting instructions saying how to do for both Windows and Debian ;P.

I tried to make Quicken 2007 work with WINE. I had to give it up and set my machine up to do a dual boot with XP. Linux is cool for doing a lot of things. This is why I wanted to keep Linux and set up a dual boot. But Linux is still not perfect for doing everything you may need a computer for.

Wait, you argue that linux is now more usable because you can use the pseudo-emulator WINE to not-emulate a windows environment? Wouldn't it be easier to just use windows in the first place? ;)
