1. I have 2, 2GB of DDR2 6400(800MHz) of RAM currently in my computer. I have a stick of DDR2 4200(533MHz) of RAM on my desk. I know that I can probably run all 3 sticks and be ok, my question is what will happen to the speed on these sticks? Will the 800's drop to 533's by default? Or will they just break?

2. Is there a way to mod a wireless USB adapter to work with an xbox 360? I can't see spending 100.00 on a wireless adapter when I have 2 or 3 USB adapters laying around that would probably do the job. I know that theres no real way to install wireless software on to a 360, but is this a possibility?

I would say plug the USB in and see what happens, I remember that you could use some wireless and some wired USB ethernet dongles just by plugging them into the original ps2. As for the RAM I think everything would default to the 533 but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

the 800 would default to 533, but you would also lose dual channel, and might cause some stabilty issues, you might get luckey you might not

I know with the old xbox you could use a wireless adapter with a Ethernet (RJ-45) connection on it. the way to get it to work was to plug it into a computer, configure the adapter with the wireless AP then plug it into the xbox via the Ethernet port.

a alternative if you have a computer close by is to connect the computer via the network ports then have the computers wireless go to the wireless AP, i have implemented this twice both being a success and both giving good thu-put on live! one was made with a desktop and the other with a old laptop

just a few ideas if your usb one don't work out

Ive tried the 2nd part with a pc, problem is in the services that are in the management screen. There are a couple of services that just wont start, Ive looked into the dependancies of these items and they are all running. I looked on microsofts website for information and it wasn't very fruitful.

Don't forget to bridge the 2 connections!

I've been able to use an old laptop as a wifi bridge for an xbox360 as well, with great success. On Telus (ADSL) it was terribly laggy, but on Shaw (Cable) it was fine.

To use the wireless laptop to the 360, you'll need a crossover cable and you'll have to enable ICS (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc778588.aspx) on the laptop.
