Btw, DX10......if you have a high end system... holy hell it's sexy. Unfortunately, I can only get about 5fps on max settings with DX10 with my 9800GTS and 2.26GHz C2D :o(

I haven't read anything about it using google earth but I would imagine they probably used google earth for some of their map design. From what I've read, a lot of the maps are pretty close to a snap shot aerial view.

Well, Sunday I was told that the game (my preorder) would be in March 3rd but when I went in today after work the guy said they wouldn't be here until tomorrow... apparently today was the SHIP date... not the arrival date. I guess the guy on the phone the other day was misinformed or misunderstood me.

I really wish preorder had exclusive content rather than just an early unlock. Also from what I understand after talking to the guy at my local gamestop, they still have plenty preorders so it doesn't look like hawx had too great of launch (in my area at least).

I'm looking forward to MP. The demo only had two really quick missions so that was kinda lame. I wish they would have included mp in the demo so we could know what we're really investing in. From what I've seen in the past, companies can make a beautiful game but for some reason can't manage to make a decent online system. EA is a good example of this lol.

I downloaded the Demo last night and it was a lot of fun. The keyboard controls are very easy, and I would guess a joystick would make it twice as fun. I probably set the record for most recovered stalls in the second mission though...

I preordered from EB Games (Gamestop) and they told me it'd be in on the 3rd. I went in on the 3rd and they said it'd be there on the 4th. I went in today and they said they wont have it for PC until the 18th.

I told the guy it unlocks on STEAM on the 11th... what good is a preorder if I have to wait over a week to play it? He said "well, that's our vendor, we don't have any control over that..."

Needless to say, I'm now just going to let the preorder fall though. I've had something similar happen to me before so I've learned when preordering from Game Stop to ONLY put down a 5 dollar deposit.

When my mom pre ordered fire emblem for my sister's birthday, they said they would give the extra when it was picked up. Then the guy said that they didn't have it, but eventually gave in and went to the back of the store and got the thing that came with it.

FINALLY! A Game that might stand up to my x52 pro, really. No games have had enough features to really stand up to that stick.

I hope its fun, I'm downloading the demo now, unfortunately my desktop is in pieces for my mod project. So hopefully the laptop will run it.

Ya, it is a great game but gamestop screwed me by releasing the preorder over a week after the game unlocks. Screw that...

I played it with my joystick, It was great, it premapped to every button on the joystick and worked perfectly. Much more fun than without it.

Well, Hawx came out today and I'm pissed.

The F22 unlock was for PS3 and 360 only even though they presented it was for PC as well...

Simply not having the F22 isn't really what I'm so fumed about... I'm irritated that I now have yet another physical copy when it's so much more convenient for me to have it on steam. I know that sounds crazy but I honestly would much rather have my games all in one place rather than have to dick around with cd's and keep track of the books with the serials on them yada yada yada...

So far, Hawx appears to be a complete failure. They pushed it back numerous times and still ended up releasing a beta. The forums are PACKED with complaints about bugs, glitches, joystick dead spots, sounds issues, etc.

What happened Tom Clancy? Did you guys get money hungry and decide to **** out 3 or 4 games at once that all suck just to make a quick buck?

EDIT: Also note that the only reason I didn't buy it on steam was because of the F22 unlock through Gamestop. If I would have known about PC not having a preorder unlock, I could have had the game in my steam collection AND had a complementary free Blazing Angels (Steam deal).

I just played it and it's still an awesome game. I haven't experienced any of the bugs or joystick issues but then again there was a patch released today so that may have been the fix.

There is one problem though. A huge problem. No one is online. There wasn't a single match created and the #1 guy on the leader boards has just over an hour of gameplay. I'd like to be #1 but there's no1 to figgin play with!

Tons of online issues. Many people are getting disconnected after a couple minutes of playing if they can connect at all. I didn't have any problems in versus mode online but coop is 100% down and it doesn't sound like it will be patched any time soon.

I honestly don't think the game ever even got in the air lol. They had **** sales at preorder/launch and everyone that did get the game is pissed off.

I know I won't be buying another ubisoft game any time soon, that's for damn sure. Now I can't buy EA or Ubisoft.

I'm not sure why they didn't stop to think, 'Hey... if our consumers get a half-assed game they may be disappointed and look elsewhere in the future.'

Because humans have a tendency to repeat themselves. Why does the girl always go back to him if he beats her? Why do I keep drinking when I know that the next day I'll swear that I'll never drink again? so on and so forth. lol

I HATE EA for what they did to Spore and I'm almost pissed that I paid for it. But if they come out with another amazingly sweet looking game like how I felt with Spore pre-release, I'll probably buy it. lol

EA ruins everything. Just look at Command & Conquer. CnC3 was okay but the expansion was really lame. RA2 was okay but a little overboard with the craziness. RA3 is awful. I played it at a friend's house and flat out detested it. There is no thought that goes into it, just a tank rush. The Chinese/Japanese themed side offends me at how stereotypical it is, not to mention the Russians and USA, as well. Ahh well, this isn't my thread or really a place to rant so I"ll end it there. /rant

In other news, from what I've seen of Hawx it looks really cool. I like that they use the same universe as the Ghosts. Keeps it nice and uhh... I forget the word, lol.

Not to continue the rant or derail the thread, but I just wanted to quickly comment that I too detested RA3. There was truly no thought that went into the game. It felt so empty and boring and just so lacking of any real content. I played all the different countries as well as multiple campaign levels within the same day. I uninstalled the game that very same day too. Worst C&C I've ever played. Although... I've only played the old ones, this was the first new one I decided to play. lol how unfortunate it is that.

I used to love the old C&C games, the skirmishes were awesome. Thats the main reason why I even play these kinds of games, because I love the skirmishes. I think I might try another C&C, but just really not sure which one to try out, I hate wasting money. ><

I found the joystick dead zones. They are only in assistance off mode which is a vital part of the game... you wont stand a chance in some missions let alone online without it.

Missions are getting harder and harder to solo so I have a feeling I'll soon be stuck in career until they patch the dead zones. Dodging SAMs in lvl 20+ missions is nearly impossible in assist-on mode (cock pit view).
