Hi, im looking for a new style power switch for my computer. Im relocating the switches to the top of my computer to make room for exhast fans where they are now. But I dont want to use the stock buttons. I want something special. Like a military switch to turn it on and off, I dont need a restart button are anything special like that!

Where can I find switches like this? How Do I apply them!

Any help would be great!

here is a switch like you described http://xoxide.com/militaryswitch.html these people are nice to deal with too. the only problem is you would need to switch it on then back off again or your computer will think you are holding it down.

i dont know how much detail i should go into on how to hook it up but basicly all you need to do is disconnect your old switch and then connect your new one in the same fashion. if you need more detail just ask

btw this should probly be in the Q&A fourm

I've been looking for some cool switches too. They are mysteriously hard to find. Radio shack has some cool ones:

For pc power switches and reset buttons, look for momentary switches other than push on/off switch. The difference is that momentary sends a quick signal to start and push on/off keeps it in the position you set it. I've seen people get 10 kinds of frustrated when they try using push on/off for a pc. I can't remember where but i remember seeing a military switch on-line that was momentary. Well i hope this helps (if you didn't know this already :p )

Good luck and happy modding!!! :D

They are a few bucks more, but he will mod them to be momentary for you. And as anyone who has been in modding for any amount of time knows, there are few people out there cooler the Bill. :)

In the UK you can get this.http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=37319&criteria=military%20switch&doy=18m12

Its only a cover, but thats what makes it great, you can fit it over any switch you want.....

If we can get it over here, there must be somebody selling it over there....
