Touchpad sensitivity settings are occasionally reverting back to default and it's starting to drive me nuts. I found a temp fix to uncheck KHALMNPR from startup but it creates a new one from time to time and even leaves the old unchecked KHALM in startup.

Is synaptics somehow linked with the internal touchpad drivers? Are they the same? Share drivers? Maybe even they are conflicting with one another?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry.

It's a gateway p-7805u FX, vista premiumx64.

Touchpad is a Synaptics PS/2 port touchpad. (with up to date drivers.)

I'm often plugging/unplugging my G5 so I have a feeling that's where the new KHALM is being created but then again, I can play COD4, exit, and play again and it will still tell me my system has changed and prompt to continue or optimize settings.

trying using RegCleaner (http://www.worldstart.com/weekly-download/archives/reg-cleaner4.3.htm) to clear out the start up menu permanantly..

try uninstalling it and deleting the registry value using that program to.

Dunno if it works in vista but works like a charm in XP.
