hows everyone doing out there behind your monitors and beside a cool computer? just a little intro about myself..im 20, male and reside in arizona. huge fan of sports and heavy metal...and i love computers.
this weekend im grabbing a NZXT Tempest case from www.blazintech.net along with some thermal paste, a bulk (cheap) optical mouse and most likely some RAM...in serious need of a RAM upgrade. as well as whatever else i may find.
a question though, has anyone dealt with or make purchases from www.blazintech.net? they have the cheapest price including shipping on the tempest...after newegg raised the price up for the case (and took away free shipping). evidently the company is located near by, because all the shipping methods are for 1 day and it only costa $14 to ship 33 pounds worth of stuff.

I have not done any business with them, sorry, but I wanted to answer your post just to officially welcome you to TBCS. Do you have any modding plans for your new case?

im going to add a fan speed/system temp sensor lcd display...because its lightweight im going to use on of the front drive covers, cut holes in it for the wires and super glue the display onto the mesh cover...nothing to crazy for that. going to use the cold cathodes from this computer inside the tempest...adding an alien fan grill on the side panel fan. im not really a modder persue, i only make small adjustments to pre-built cases.
haha, i just decided to take pictures of this peice of crap i have right now...its a disaster...has no front panel or side panels LOL. i also placed some LED fans on top of the dvd burner for extra jazz when its dark...lol. i also have no hard drive cages so...yea.
first 2 are without my cameras flash on...the rest are with the flash on so you can get a good look at my ghetto-ass computer.

Wow, that's kind of ugly, you're right. But that's what we're all here for, right? Blow all that off a little and stick in that shiny new case with a little effort on cable management and the mods you've got in mind and it'll be great.

thanks. no need for cable managment with what i have....it would be like dusting off a turd. the tempest case im getting has pretty good cable managment from what i've heard...as you can route wires and cables behind the mobo tray. along the line im upgrading components one by one until i can play decent games. after the case upgrade...ill be broke...no job, as you can guess. get a little money here, buy a 1TB Hdd....a little money there and get a blue LED 1000 watt PSU.
i gotta think of a nickname for my soon to come beauty...
edit: has anyone dealt with the NZXT Tempest?

Why on earth would you want a 1000watt psu?
Also, if it's one thing I've learned when building rigs... you want to avoid buying one piece at a time. You will end up spending a hell of a lot more than if you were to just pick up your parts all at once. Of course this suggestion means nothing if you get some crazy deals but most of those were between turkey day and new years. There's still some warehouse blowouts going on but still from what I've seen nothing that wouldn't be available (or even much cheaper) once you have a little cash to play with a little down the road.
On a side note, Scar Symmetry kicks ass. []m[]

Just my two cents, the only thing you can overdo with a PSU is the cost. Whatever you buy now you'll need more of later. Again, budget is always a factor, but I say buy the best and biggest you can afford. If you don't need it now you probably will later.

If blue LEDs are the major selling point of the power supply i'd look else where.
Watts isnt what you should be looking at.
Should look at the total combined amperage of the +12v rails. and how many +12v rails there are.
+5v will deal with your USB consumption alot. but amperage follows 12V
Halve the voltage double the amps.
I'm sure a 1000W power supply wouldn't boot if your using all 1000W
really unless your running some sort of spectacular quad Gpu system with 8 hard drives and 6 sticks of ram plus you know enough neon to recreate Close Encounters of the third kind. then yea i'd consider a 1000 watter
but most systems run just fine with a good and i mean good 650W psu.
sli systems like 8 series might need 700-800W but again look at the amperage because it varies vastly between power supplies even though both provide 600W total power.
if they have it on the list option RMS is something to look at. thats the cleanest power it can provide with out hiccups. Enermax's are quite high and there stone cold realiable.
anyways hope this helps.

1000 Watts can be a lot. Check this website out if you want a general figure: http://support.asus.com/PowerSupplyCalculator/PSCalculator.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
It said I needed a 550W, so I went with a 750W, hehe.
