In my astronomy lab we used scale to show just how big the solar system is. freaking huge. it was as long as the hallway in our building, using a basketball for the sun. the earth was very tiny compared to it. and pluto was ALMOST outside the building. crazy.

There are stars and nebula that in that scale would most likely fit your school inside it whole.


we did pretty much the same thing when i was in school. Had a hell of a time translating miles into centimeters. you know we were the super nerds so we threw in both asteroid belts and the locations of a couple other large objects.



If i remember right VV cephi isnt the largest known star now.

it's canis something.
