im pretty sure it is, just need a second answer

i just hooked up a spare computer and went to power it on, cpu fan kicks on...get blinking lights...everything, except for video

ive tried both vid card and on board, but still nothing

Does it POST? Or does it make any other sounds? I've had the processor go with the same symptoms.
This should be moved to the computer ain't working section ;p

yes...i know this should be else where... but im needing a quick answer as i was supposed to sell this computer tomorrow...

Try it with one stick of ram. If it boots, up the DRAM voltage, then re-install the other stick(s) of RAM.

ive tried with one stick and then the other...ive tried with all hardware removed etc

have you checked the PSU is good, a fubar'd psu would cause the machine to play funny buggers

Easiest answer is to run to your nearest big box electronics store and pick up a cheap mobo. It sounds to me like the thing is dead, but the spare mobo will tell you for sure.

If you've got a good friend with the same socket in his rig, that's an even cheaper solution. Bit of a pain, though.

You've reset the CMOS and pulled the battery for a minute or so? All the connectors are plugged in (2x2 12v, etc.)? You don't have an extra standoff shorting it out from behind?

And the 20+4 pin plug? A lot of boards won't boot, unless you have all 24 pins of it plugged in.
