Not sure if this is the right forum, mods feel free to move if not.

Ok, I got a new tomtom for christmas, so I went to disassembling my (still working) older Deplhi unit. I'ts got a decent size LCD screen, and I want to incorporate it into my case somehow. It's got the controller, etc all on the board. I'd like to mount the screen in the front, and have it display certain things, like coolant temp, CPU temp, HDD temp, MB temp, etc. It's a Sharp screen, not sure about the components. Anyone have iny ideas?

I'm going to do some searching tonight after work on the unit itself, see if I can find some hacking info or the like

:EDIT: did a quick google...this is the unit I have (http://www.monstermarketplace.com/Automotive/Landing1202a459.html)

the LCD itself is a Sharp, model LQ38Q5DR01 T 39004127

the PCB control board is a Navman NZ PB000165H

Unless the control board has some sort of input, then you'll be replacing it with another controller. Check out EarthLCD.com for possible matches.

Don't even bother with a control board, they are extremely pricey, and generally cost the same price of buying a nice lcd with the proper inputs. I've heard PS1 screens make great monitors to be used in modding, so I would give that a try. They are usually dirt cheap. And also you can tend to find loads of great ones on ebay.
