For a little background...

A long while back I took an A+ course at a local community college. I recieved 3 units for the course and highschool credit.

years pass

I decide to go into the United States Air Force but my recruiter said he wanted me to complete a semester of college first. (15 units)

Well, with 12 more to go I started hunting for online courses since my job hours were random. I came in at a bad time so almost every online course was booked. I registered for a "lifelong success" course that was also worth 3 units. It was a good class and honestly learned a lot.

A little while passed and I registered for 9 units in attempt to be in Basic Training around March. (Health Education, Networking, Microcomputer applications, excel, document processing and I think that's it.) Health Ed. started a little early (January 5th) while the rest start on Jan 26th. I e-mailed the teacher around the 1st stating when I log in. "It lets me log in but when I try to add the course it tells me I need another password." She e-mails me back saying that I need to do forgot password. I explained to her that I am ABLE to log into MY account... I need an ADD CODE from HER. A few days pass... she tells me the same thing. I reply saying that I need a password from her so I can add the course... a few more days pass and she tells me I need to drop the course.

AWESOME! So now all courses are closed and there's no way to make up for that 3 units so my goal is now destroyed. I went to the school to get my 80 dollars back. The student behind the desk messed around with the computer then made a phone call... she told me "the professor dropped you from the course so you aren't eligible for a refund." I told her well I better be! This was not my fault. She snickered and gave me a packet and told me to "petition for a refund."

I decided to drop two of the 1 unit courses since they were A) a waste of money and B) since my goal is ruined and I have to take 3 units later, I may as well split the load and take 4 now and 5 later. A little while later (today) I had orientation for my networking and microcomputer apps classes. In class we signed into WebCT (the same online deal that I was unable to add the health class with) and guess what? It's right there... AND I have an F in the course. She never dropped me........ so my GPA was just struck by a big fat F and so far it seems I'm out 80 bucks AND being on my way to the military by March.

I know it sucks now, but after you're on active duty, 100% tuition assistance. Anyway, I'm sure if you include the E-mails that you sent/received from said "teacher" that will greatly help in your petition to get your refund and that grade dropped from your record.

thats a bummer man, i would e-mail here superior and send a copy of the e-mails asking for a refund and that mark removed from your record.

Did you have to go to college to become an officer?

If I remember right from when I was going to enlist yes. I think Buzz said something in another thread, correct me if I'm wrong on that, that he wanted to be a pilot and you have to be an officer for that.

Why didn't your recruiter just have you go in as enlisted then do college. You'd have a job that was some sort of normal schedule and you get access to some college credit shortcuts.
