Damn, thats pretty impressive. Too bad thats not achievable under more obtainable/normal circumstances. If it was, there would be a GINORMOUS increase in AMD sales. lol

Well, at least they have SOMETHING to boast about now though. AMD still pales in comparison with Intel, but its a start! Now c'mon AMD, release something to make Intel sweat a little.

good about time amd does something impressive (cpu wise) lower my intel prices. though i stick with who ever is cheapest and yields the best overclocking.

I'm not a gamer but I would REALLY like to have seen them play a game of crysis on that rig :) that's some o/c.

+rep for the find.

Apparently the new stuff is still gonna be AM2+ with good ol' DDR2 RAM

Man, if everyone had a couple thousand to blow on running their computer at 6.5ghz even once a week, AMD would be ontop. But sadly normal people don't. Phenoms may be great at extremely low temps, but a normal ones they still get beat by their Intel counterparts.

I've heard the Phenom II hitting 4ghz on air. They are definitely back in the game with intel. It performs up there with the i7's and really they should not be compared due to the Phenom II still using DDR2 and the i7 using DDR3. Either way, I'm going to wait a while before I upgrade my cpu at all, not sure if I'm staying AMD or crossing over to Intel, I'd like to stay AMD because they always make stuff that is a better bang for my buck.

there is still some good punch from DDR2 still to be had, but AMD are going to make the switch to DDR3, and even talks of DDR4 in the 4Q of 2010, now that would light a fire up intels backside.

Im hitting 3.2-3.4 ghz on air and stock cooler with a 5200+ I am sure with the 6000+ or the 6200+ you could hit 4+ ghz on air. The reason I say 3.2-3.4 is that I am stable at 3.4 with very little temp change. I keep it at 3.2 because there is nothing it can not do @ 3.2 that it couldn't do at 3.4.
