Well I'm sure it's defective, it's already got an RMA number and everything, probably getting shipped back to Newegg tomorrow. But I just want to make sure I'm not over thinking the problem.
Okay, first I plugged it into my computer (while computer WAS on, it did say to power off...) and to the wall. Well it does not power on, nothing. Usually my CRT that I've had forever will at least say no signal. But this does nothing when I press the power butter. I tried just plugged into the wall not being connected via the DVI cable, just AC and that's it and still nothing.
It is indeed a defective monitor right? (Sorry, I'm paranoid as I've never been sent anything that didn't work from Newegg)

Easy test to do is enable it as a second moniter through the properties and if it doesnt work then it might be the moniter.. but you have button on the moniter to switch between dvi and vga ... I have that happen to me when I was useing the Hdmi on my moniter had to boot for it to see the moniter.. you can try turning the computer off and then turning it on but whats your video card intergrated or dedicated the computer doesnt know you switch the imputs and sometimes doesnt see it because of that

My ,onitor doesn't do anything except for goingg into standby when plugged into an older computer with a geforce 256 (using DVI), and using VGA, ithe screen and CCFLs power up, but I am left with a blank screen. Works fine with my newer computers.

This is from powerup? and is there a built in video card on this computer sometimes it will rest it self to default.. moniters only problem I sometimes have is when I use hdmi out of it since it use a converter cable.. If I turn the moniter off and come back after a long time it frogets its there.. its weird.. but restart fixs it.. Im useing 2 moniters so its not a big deal.. but it happens
