My friend would like to some decent headphones to use with his new x-fi titanium sound card.

Urbz: i dont know i just want to know how much a good headphones set or 5.1 surround sound system for my pc would cost and would take full advantage of a 1000kbps at 44Hz
Urbz: also is there a way to up it from 44Hz or is that the file, or is it my sound system is set to play it at that

Any suggestions?

He shoulda bought the combo package. headphones are basically free. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.162234)

These look comfy (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836504001) but I'd probably go with the Creative FATAL1TY's.

I'm thinking about getting these (http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/akr8/videodemo.aspx)for my laptop but it'd be a waste of sound card for him.

I have a pair like these only they've got red on them too:

They have decent bass and are comfortable after you get the used to the weight. I haven't used them in a while so I can't exactly remember how good they sound, but I was impressed when I got them.

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD515's (gaming version) and I must say, they are absolutely awesome. They are extremely comfortable and the quality on them is kick-ass. They also have replaceable ear pads and headband, so if they do break, you dont have to buy a complete new pair. If your friend wants to spend the 140-or-so, they are well worth it.

The Senn canns are great, extremely comfortable and great sound. However I am drawn to the $600 ones (HD 650) lol.

On the cheaper side of things the Skullcandy headphones are great. They are relitively cheap, have great sound (50mm drivers) and have an un-beatable warrenty. You break em you get a new pair half price, they break you get a new pair free, they also come with replacement ear pads. I have the Skullcandy GI headphones (well worn lol), there is a review on them in the review section.

He's leaning toward the Skullcandy TI, but he might wait for some new 7.1 headphones.

I have a pair of Skullcandy earphones that I got on sale for $19 (originally $30). I must say that they are simply amazing for the price range. I say go for it if that is what he actually wants.

He decided on the razer barracuda hp-1. Best Buy has them on sale for $90.

I'm not a fan of those Razer headphones, to get the best out of them you need the Razer audio card which aint that great in my oppinion.
