Wanted to do some sort of themed mod along the lines of an alien head..

Was thinking about getting rid of the black air-intake looking things on the front, and replacing it with some sort of foam to look like eyes.. dunno tho

Any ideas folks? as to a neat theme i could apply to this case?

Hmm.. If you want a good alien head type thing from that, I'd start by simplifying those eyes/vents. Can you replace them with a single piece of plastic for each?

I'd also try to smooth the outside of the case as much as possible (no seams or edges.. does that make sense?) and either close the side window off completely, or maybe make it the shape of an alien head too..?

indeed, i was thinking of making the vents Foam of somesort to make a bulged eye effect.

Any idea of something i could use to get rid of the seams?

Paint the case black. The window needs to be redone. Throw some green lights in there.

You could always vacuum form some bulging eyes from acrylic.. then you could still have them as backlit/edgelit windows, but have them bulging outwards..

i would myself, change the color from silver to black, change the window to full size get rid of that swooshy thing. then i would do something with those eyes. I would either remove the side parts, or make hole new ones, I like the blue, so i'd keep that in the front, but put green on the sides. maybe some black mesh over those eye's would help. I dunno. those cases aren't easy to mod.

don't remember if the caulking I used for my moulding on my house could be considered "normal bathroom caulk" but it was paintable. :)

Yes I believe they make a special kind that is paintable.

There is paintable caulk that you can buy at pretty much any hardware store.

Start with a plain beige then.

Its like a blank canvas awaiting you to turn it into a masterpiece of tech.

Remove the front panel, measure the area with the arches on either side, copy it onto a piece of paper. Cut the patterns out, and draw different alien eye designs on them. Tape them to the front panel in the appropriate area, and choose which design you like best.
