I Have No Money Right Not, Not Even A Job. But I Have Internet! So I Was Reserching Some Components. This Is A List Of Some Pieces I Would Like To Buy. If Anyone Could Tell Me If There Is Problems With The Setup Of This Rig, I Would Really Appretiate Them.
Asus Rampage II Extreme Motherboard - Intel X58, LGA 1366, ATX, Audio, PCI Express 2.0, CrossFire Ready, SLI Ready, Dual Gigabit LAN, S/PDIF, Firewire, USB 2.0, Serial ATA, RAID
2 Sets of Patriot Viper Tri Channel 6GB PC12800 DDR3 Memory- 1600MHz, 6144MB (3 x 2048)
Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB Hard Drive ST31500341AS - 7200RPM, 32MB Cache, SATA-3G
EVGA GeForce GTX 285 SSC Edition Video Card- 1GB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV
Intel Core i7 965 Processor Extreme Edition BX80601965 - 3.20GHz, 8MB L3 Cache, 6.4GT/s QPI, Hyper Threading, Quad-Core, Bloomfield, LGA 1366, Unlocked Multiplier, Retail, Processor with Fan
I Want To Put In A Corsair HX1000w PSU, But The One At TigerDirect.com Is Currently Unavailable. Not Sure What Case To Put It In Though, I Was Thinking A CoolMaster HAF Or A Silverstone Temjin TJ09-B. If Anyone Has Any Ideas On How To Improve This List Let Me Know.
really... what are you gonna use that for?
if i may say my honest oppinion it looks like you just looked up the most expensive and newest hardware.
1: if your gonna use that rig for anything else than hardcore oc´ing, and show off, its a waste of money.
2: why the F##k go for 12 gigs of ram? you wont even be able to max 6, or 3 for the matter, if again you arent doing any hardcore 3d animations.
now for the things you are asking for.
you wont get much performance out of the harddrive as a system drive. the hdd cant follow up on the rest of the system, and that particular drive has a bad reputation.
get a velociraptor 300 gigs for system, and a western digital caviar 2 tb for storage
the grafic card is fine... not ultra high end but quite decent.
and youl get more than plenty power with a 1000W psu.
now for what we need to know if we are to really help you
-what are you gonna use it for
-when are you gonna buy
-what monitor are you planning to use
remember. everyone can put a ultra high end pc together, but few people manages to buy whats best for their use. save the money and upgrade again in a few years. at that time your gonna kick yourself in the nuts for spending that much money on something you never utilized fully.

Well I Will Be A Senior Next Year And I Plan To Create Video games. I Want To Start my Own Company. Also That Is Kind Of What I Did. I Did Look Up The Newest Things, Because They Are The Most Advanced. But They Are Not The Most Expensive. The Comp. Has To Run Games On High Setting, Plus It Has To Be Great At 3D Imaging And What Not. Not Sure What Monitor. Any Suggestions? Oh Thanks By The Way About The Hard Drives I Will Look In To It. And I Am Not Planning To By Anything At The moment I Have like No Cash. So I Am Going To Put My Money In To A Savings Account And Buy Everything I Need At One Time. (So It Is Not Outdated)
if you gonna wait more than 3 month why scoop up hardware now? everything is gonna be outdated at that time.
for a monitor if would go for a 24" og higher if you are gonna put alot of money into it anyway.
what programs are you going to use?

In that case get a 24" screen with 1920x1200 resolution. If you can stand the cost, get two of them. Also, you might want to research the differences between hardcore gaming and development PCs. Just because we run Crysis on a GTX280 and a OC'd Q6600 doesn't mean those are the best components for developing the next Guild Wars.
You should look into the merits of workstation graphics cards and the Extreme versions of processors, as well as the developer related pros and cons of Core i7's and Core2 Quads.

yeah... with them i would wait. 32nm dies are coming out, the chips will use less power, generate less heat, and be more powerful. plus new mobos... and you need another boot drive. some mobos dont recognize anything about 1tb sometimes, and then are frimware updates and all that jazz, get something small and fast and use that as storage.
thats why he should get a velociraptor:)
