I rarely use the feature that let's you vote on a threads' content. Anyone have a similar view?

Very rarely. I've only done it around 5 times, at the most, the whole time I've been here.

I consider it a bloated and useless feature. It's got potential in the case mods section, but I don't like numerical systems when it comes to feedback. In fact, I don't like forms at all, because there's always an exception to the damn rule.

Why did you ask, out of curiosity?

Yeah, I chose not to post this in the staff forums because I wanted to see what everyone else thought. I do agree about the worklogs though.

I am confused are we talking about polls or ratings?

I can see where ratings _could_ be useful, but around here if one actually gets rated, its usually rated 5 star, so honestly its not really that useful.

Not to mention the fact that a worklog is a work in progress, where the outcome of the project could change at anytime. Meaning you can have a worklog that contains top notch workmanship and creativity, but could get abandoned before the mod is completed. Should an incomplete mod reflect a 5 star rating? On the flip side you could have a worklog that is pretty mediocre, but end up with fantastic results towards the end, but may have already received a lower rating.

Which brings me to conclusion that star ratings (or as previously stated a numerical rating) IMHO are useless, unless maybe they are applied AFTER the worklog has been completed.

I consider polls to be the equivalent of postcounts.

Thats what I figured, but as far as I know, the only section of the forums that even allows ratings is the Featured Worklogs. :? Which is what threw me at first.

Yep, I just looked and it sure does. So I guess that section covers both polls AND ratings! :D
