Heh, I've gotten things shipped to me from newegg before, it's always the cost of sending stuff here that is the killer.

Sigh.

I put together a Skulltrail system in that case with a friend of mine, and it is indeed a nice case, aside from one very large detail: you need a modular power supply with it. There's three-fifths of bugger-all for clearance between the motherboard tray and the right side panel, so if you have to shove anything other than front-panel or SATA cables in there, the sucker'll be impossible to close. Of course, I'm also a bit anal about cable management.

The only other complaint we had with it was that the Tuniq Towers he used pressed up against the grille on the side fan, forcing us to remove that, too, before we could put the left panel on. For an enthusiast's case, support for enthusiast CPU coolers is limited.

Outside of that, it's a brilliant case. Supports eATX motherboards (which was its main selling point over the 1200 for him), excellent fit and finish... It would've been nearly perfect if it had been a half-inch wider.

Now that mid towers are conforming to fit the larger cards I don't think I'd ever buy another full tower unless I planned on going all out with a full water kit and/or was planning on 2 or more GPUs.

...That or if I ever decided to put a system inside the tower as well which I've seen a few of those here on TBCS but I'm not a huge fan of consoles.

No doubt the full towers have all of the looks though. :(

I hear you. I really love the NZXT Khaos, but $400+ for a case??

I bought the 1200 'cos I knew whatever I wanted to do, I could do. Didn't cost me much more than a comparable midtower would have, either.

That being said, I believe that for most of us modding types, the answer lies in a ten-year-old server tower acquired cheaply on the used market.

Or, in my case, for free from the curb.

Damn right! I got my two Giant Gateway Towers that way. I'm modding the crap out of one of 'em; documenting the progress, but it's intermittent, so I'm hesitating to post it right off.

I've never been very good at modding pre-mods

A friend of mine had a regular Cosmos, very nice case. Not sure about the S but the original was extremely quiet, albeit it a little tight for cable management. I have a feeling the Cosmos S is a little louder, also some features of the original I liked better. Neither are all that moddable, but look great from the factory.
